Upgraded Printer...

I know I'm *supposed* to ignore the promotional details, but the rebate program that was in place was a great incentive to re-invest in a newer Epson printer for my digital photography pieces. My rambling thoughts noted below...
After using a 2000P, the upgrade was seamless, with one major exception: now I really can use a broad variety of papers with exceptional results. Yes, I still will use Epson papers, too, but being able to print on metallic media with excellent results after tweaking the color profile is awesome. I have seen no issues working with Windows XP.
The ability to replace an individual cartridge is a great benefit for me. On the other hand, since I rarely print glossy prints, having to turn off that feature is a minor annoyance, as is having to select the higher quality, slower print as the default. Updating the default selections in the software would be a great benefit. I can't imaging using this printer for low-res prints...
I also like that I can send something to print...and the sound of printing is so low, I sometimes have to check that I've sent the print job off to start.
Overall, I've been pleased with the quality of the prints. I haven't put it to a high-volume test yet, but hope to this summer.

just got my new r1900 yesterday. only did a few small prints but so far so good. i think i'm going to like this printer. did a portrait shot with the 1900 and the skin tone looked real good. i've been using a epson r1400 for the past 3 years and i thought it was very good. gave it to my son and it still works fine. pretty happy with this printer so far.

Review of Stylus Photo R1900 Printer

This R1900 printer has worked very well for me for a variety of photos, many of which are on display on the walls of our local hospital
My only com[plaintg is that the volume of the ink cartridges is so small, I need to change them frequently if I am making many prints.
I haave just purchased the R4900 model which has much larger cartridges plusmany advanced features.

Love Epson

I had a Stylus 1280 that gave up the ghost. In reviewing which Epson I would replace it with, I decided on the R1900. I love my R1900. We also own a Workforce 610 all in one that we use everyday for business. I will not own any printer except Epson. I cannot believe the photos I have printed this past week. The quality is unsurpassed. I am working on an album from our trip to Italy. Photos that I took at the Vatican are as beautiful as any professional prints. I also love the arcaival inks and the economic costs. I highly recommend this printer.

Extremely tempermental

I purchased this printer about 18 months ago. It was wonderful at first, but after the first few months became extremely tempermental. The ink heads clog frequently and it has often needs a little push to draw in the paper. Over the weekend I got the flashing lights of death and now it won't print at all. The ink waste pads need to be replaced, which will cost between $100 and $200. The Epson website suggests just replacing the machine at this point. I expected a longer lifespan than this and less trouble with its performance along the way.

Great printer for my work of small size reproductions: note cards, prints of my work 11"x14"-13"x19". Easy to work with. I have it for two months, lot of printing and so far no problem.

I am just really getting into this photo printer. I have spent about two hours trying to make the dvdcd device print onto a dvd. The unit works properly through the steps but does not produce anything but a rainbow circle around the inner most circle. I have printed a dozen or more 4x6s and so far the quality is fair not what was advertized. I have printed about a dozen of 8x10s and the background objects are very clear but the center subject is a little less clear. I am willing to continue to work with printer and the company on these problems.

After much hesitation in having to give up my older R1800 I placed the order for the R1900. After a bit of adjustment to get it up to speed with my older 1800 which I loved ! I'm finding I absolutely love the new model. Its clean print, beautiful colors and easy operation take my stationery and card line to the heights of what my customers expect from me. Thanks Epson for a great product and the right price for small business :))
