So far, so good

Got the printer for Christmas and it is more than I imagined. I am printing from Lightroom 3 and the colors and clarity are magnificent. I am an amateur so I don't think I will be producing mass numbers of prints, but what I have printed so far far surpass the quality of the prints I get from my local camera shop. I am printing on Epson Premium Ultra Luster Photo paper. I hope I don't run into the issues I have read on other sites about the ink cartridges not being compatible.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great printer

I have always wanted a large format printer to being my photography to the next level. Recently, Epson offered a $300 rebate on the R1900 printer. This was my Christmas present!!!
I have owned 5 Epson printers in the past. I am a huge fan of their ink and paper technology. Needless to say, the R1900 is the best I have owned to date.
I have done roughly a dozen prints - all large format. The colors and detail are incredible. Good news/bad news though - a photo that looks great at 5x7 or 8x10 "might" be a problem at a larger size like 11x19.
I have a few photos that look spectacular at that size. I have one, that needs some serious sharpening...

I love the pigment inks and the new ability to try different papers such as the linen and canvas stock.
I am 100% happy with this purchase and look forward to expanding my hobby!

nice work with a r1900

My r1900 is 3 years old. I use it alot for large prints. but mostly for photo compatision, & do win. So with the opertunity of new Camera & new printer.The choise was eze. Get another r1900. No proublems, work best after I Color Monkey the computer, printer,and paper types.

I bought this printer first, because I needed to replace my old R300 and the rebate offer was very, very attractive. I especially like Epsons because they print directly onto CD-DVD media and the output looks professional. I often get very positive compliments when I give as gifts to friends and family, video slideshows and movies labeled with the Epson. The 1900 is a vast improvement over the R300. The DVD tray works so much better and smoother. In addition, the printed photos are astounding. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great Buy

I bought this printer mainly for the large format feature, but have found that it prints great pictures. They are comparable to prints done by a photo lab. My spouse couldn't tell the difference.
