R1900 review

I've been using this printer now for two years to add another capability to my graphics business as well as doing personal printing. Results have been spectacular and ease of use is a bonus. Even after two years, I'm still astonished at the quality of the output. Also, the finish appears to be very durable and handling over time doesn't bother the finish. Fantastic printer.

Imagine my surprise, it was out of the box and printing great photos from my iMac in under 20 minutes. That may seem like a long time, but I didn't rush it. Color fidelity out of Photoshop is right on. My old R1800 took me weeks to get right so I AM A HAPPY CUSTOMER. I will report back if there are any difficulties or issues.... Right now I'm happy printing great work.

Great Printer

While running off 13x19 fine art prints, I used my regular 140# cold press watercolor paper (which doesn't have an ICC printer profile) and the results were disappointing. However, after a support technician suggested that I use the Epson watercolor paper designed for their wide format printers, I purchased 13x19 Epson cold press textured watercolor paper and the results were amazing: very sharp as well as eye-popping color. You can download the ICC code from an Epson site that features this paper.
The Epson ultra premium presentation matte paper is great for smaller prints (8.5 x 11 and smaller).
I like the texture and thickness of the cold press watercolor paper, natural or bright white, the best.
It's a little tricky once in a while loading the paper, but so far I am glad I purchased this printer, which is only about three weeks old as of this writing.

Like it so far

It's working great for me so far! I use it mainly for printing my fine art, and it works wonderfully for that. The colors are rich and accurate. I have only used it a few times so far so have not needed to order additional ink yet.

I have been a Epson user since 1992. I have bought and given away more printers than I can count, all Epsons, and all but one is still in use. I always need 2 for myself, one for everyday printing and one for cards, photos, and wide format printing. The R1900 is great for menu's and large photo's, the colors are so true to life my photo's are alway's perfect. I took my nephews graduation picture's this year, I used the R1900 for all the pictures. For borderless printing this printer Rocks! You can coun't on only the very best for your photos with Epson paper and Epson printers. In the end, the only printer I will ever buy is a Epson, so keep making these great printers!

I already own a Epson R1800 and wanted to see the difference in colors and skin tone with the R 1900. Because I am a critical photographer I have noticed a improvement in these areas and would recommend for any person who wants a better looking photo. My R 1800 is now my back up.Yes I am a satisfied customer.

Supplies are expensive, prints are Great!

The software was a little complicated to install. The prints are great! Very expensive ink and paper...would only use this printer for final prints that are worth the money. I love the quality of prints regardless of anything else, I wouldn't trade it for anything, Just be sure to have an additional cheap printer...maybe laser, for proofing.
