I would definitely recommmend this printer! The print quality is fantastic. I do a lot of printing at home of scrapbook pages and enlarged pictures. This printer does a wonderful job with everything I have tried.

Good Quality, Poor Speed

This wide format printer provides good, high quality prints on both letter and ledger sized papers of various weights. It's fairly quiet (nice), but the down side is it's extremely slow, in not only priming the ink heads but in producing the prints. I mean REALLY SLOW, so don't wait until you are close to a deadline to print anything.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Needs calibrated ICCs ?

Out of the box, my new 1900 gives me very dark, muddy prints. I'm trying to produce calibrated ICCs with my PrintFix Pro soft- and hardware, but so far, I'm not getting prints as good as I get with my old 1280---which did work out of the box!

After having worked on a daily basis at my old studio with the 2400 and 3800 (with custom profiles) I wasn't sure what to expect from this printer when I opened my own studio over 2 years ago. This printer is every bit as good. Clients have often mentioned the beautiful quality of the prints. It's not as fast, but excellent color & density-using the stock profiles and a good file. It did used to clog, but if it's kept turned off until its time to print, that problem will be completely eliminated. All in all, a great value and a professional printer.

Epson Stylus Photo RI900 Ink Jet Printer

This printer was ordered to replace a 5 year old Epson printer used by our Graphics Designer who prints most of our promotional pieces, including business cards. It was chosen because the previous machine was a real work horse and because we expected an easy installation.
The install was quick and easy and the printer seems to produce a high quality product. We will know more after the machine has been used, but for now are very satisfied with the purchase.

Long on performance short on information

My only complaint is the information that came with the product on how to set up your photo software profile to work with the printer has one illustration and that refers to only CS3 screens only. The text instructions are confusing because they incorporated four profiles into one set of instructions. The writters must have experice writting tax codes, it's that confusing. On line help is as weak at the printer documentation.
This is the reason I gave 3 stars instead of four and since only God is perfect so you can eliminate ever reaching five.

I bought this printer last year and it works brilliantly. The colors are always spot on and tonal range is excellent. I use this printer for absolutely everything and it has yet to let me down.

Good choice for beginner who wants to learn

This printer is everything that an amateur or semi-pro could want in a printer priced for the everyday consumer. Great prints and ease of use. Sure, some ink color is always needing to be replaced, but get real, there are 8 colors. The only problem I had was getting familiar with the extra color control offered by Epson and Adobe software. Most of the complaints I see in here sound similar to the problems I had. Once I became acquainted with the printer and software all problems melted away. The printer is worth the effort and price.
