I purchased the R1900 on a friend's recommendation and boy was she right. So far, I love this printer. It took a bit of reading to determine the settings for the absolute best quality print but now that I've found it...WOW! I have entered my first juried gallery show and am using my own prints for the framed photos! They look fabulous!

I bought the R1900 printer as a refurbished model. It was a snap to setup and it ran great for the first half dozen prints but soon started to make white tracks in parallel columns or rows which are called pizza wheels defect caused by the output rollers picking up ink from the print causing the paper base to show through.
The prints that did print were of the highest quality and I was disappointed by the result of the printer being defective. I had to return it after running some paper with it while on the phone with an Epson tech. Epson paper would print without flaws at first then the problem began all at once and consistently made tracked prints. If a person should buy one and it didn't have any mechanical flaws then they will be quite happy with it I sure.

I bought this printer after using my room mate's Epson that was four or five years old. I thought the print quality from her printer was great until I got the R1900. This printer has great color accuracy, is incredibly smooth, and prints quickly. I have been using it to make prints for my portfolio and I have no complaints so far. I would definitely recommend this printer!

The R1900 is simple to use and does a great job. I like having the availablity of larger print sizes. It is also nice that it can be closed up when not in use.

The R1900 give me the greatest print quality anyone could ever think of. I have used many different Ink Jet Printers and none can compare to my Epson Stylus R1900 Ink Jet Printer.

I love the R1900. I love the way this printer prints. It prints very accurately on luster and glossy; however, it does use a lot of ink and the cartridges are smaller than my 2200. (This may be that the first cartridges are the original cartridges which came with the printer and I have heard that they are not as full as the regular cartridges??.) I have ordered my second set of ink cartridges and will let you know if they are better.

Epson R1900

I used an Epson R1800 for years and was happy with it. But, it finally died after reaching its end of service life. I replaced it with the R1900, choosing it over the R2880, due to a higher product rating. With the R1900 I immediately noticed the small ink cartridges and then the very heavy ink usage, in my opinion way too excessive. As I continue to use the printer I can't believe how fast I am going through cartridges. I also notice the orange ink has a tendancy to make skin tones too orange. I will upgrade to another printer soon and wonder which one is best for printing on both glossy and mat papers, including Velvet Fine Art paper and Watercolor bright white paper. And, one more thing, the "87" cartridges for the R1900 are not readily available at office supply stores as were the cartridges for the R1800.
