We are using this unit to cool our 500 sq. ft. garage to keep our pets cool during the 112-115 degree heat we are experiencing here in Arizona. I didn't think a unit this small and portable could do the job, but it can. The only setup is making sure you have an exhaust vent so the hot air has someplace to go. The unit is a bit heavy for us old folk to lift, but it is on four wheels so it is easy to move around with ease. Most important is the customer service you get from Newair. If you need help, they are there to assist you all the way. The old-fashioned customer service where they make sure you are completely satisfied. If you're lucky enough to speak with Elizabeth, consider yourself blessed. Now don't you all be asking for her or she'll never be able to get anything done - but that lady deserves a medal. :-)

Everything you need in a portable air conditioner

I purchased this air conditioner so I wouldn't have to lift a heavy window unit. This air conditioner is fantastic! It cools a rather large room in my house. It was easy to install which is always a big plus!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works Well

I've had this unit now for a few months. This is my second one because the first stopped working after only 2 uses. It was under warranty of course, and air-n-water were very good with the return and exchange. This company seems top notch, and I will purchase from them in the future. As for the A/C itself, it cools a very large area in my house to acceptable levels. I am currently using it in an area about 600 sq ft. Don't get me wrong, it's not exactly frosty, but it does make it more comfortable than if we had nothing. I will buy another next year, and use these running together, which should cool down the whole area with no problem. The only real negative I can say right now is that it is noisy, but that is to be expected.
I would recommend this to a friend!

great portable ac for the price

this machine is extremely easy to set up and use. at 14,000 BTU it packs plenty of power. my only compaint is the louvers migrate downward every time i use it. i had to stuff a small piece of foam in each corner to keep them from falling down.

An absolute lifesaver

This AC unit has done so much to save us over the last couple of years. We live in the Puget Sound area, and it feels like each summer gets worse and worse in terms of heat, and none of the rentals we've lived in have any sort of installed AC. We finally purchased this unit, and it is one of the best purchases we've ever made. It's relatively easy to install and move around. The only downsides we've ever encountered are how loud it can be while we're trying to sleep and the window mount doesn't completely fit our current windows, but neither of those are deal breakers (especially since our current windows are EXTREMELY tall. All in all, a great purchase.
