Used for hot water

So far I only used it to heat water for hot cocoa for a school event. It is easy to assemble and the water was very hot. I feel it is quiet and fast. I will try it with coffee in it to see how it is. Hopefully no coffee grinds will spill out into the water.

So easy to fill my coffee cup,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally I have been able to use my 40 cup coffee brewer. It was wonderful to be able to fill a cup with just one hand. The coffee also stayed hot to everyones amazement. This is a great plus for large groups.

Hot Coffee for a Crowd!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to test this coffee urn on my son's firefighter class of 20 students at his training academy. Firefighters drink a lot of coffee so I thougth this would be a good product test. Out of the box, this coffee urn was easy to set up and use. It made a good tasting urn full of coffee without any grounds making their way through the basket. But I did use a paper filter which the directions said wasn't necessary if you use coarse ground coffee. My coffee grind was what I would consider normal. The urn has a light that comes on to tell you the coffee has finished brewing. The recommended maximum time to leave the urn on is 1 hour. The coffee in the urn stayed hot for the 1 hour that I left the urn plugged in.
There are two things to note regarding this coffee urn. One, there is not an on/off button. You just plug it into your electrical outlet to start it/turn it on and unplug it to turn it off. It would be nice to have an on/off button. And two, the appliance cord is really short so plan to place the urn near an electrical outlet.
Overall, the Hamilton Beach BrewStation 40 Cup Coffee Urn is sleek, functional, and keeps coffee hot for a large group of people. If it can keep a group of coffee loving firefighters happy, it's a great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never had a better experience of having a brew station as the Hamilton Beach BrewStation 40 Cup Coffee Urn. I have had the pleasure of trying to brew from 10 to 40 cups of coffee and what surprise me was the quality and taste was the same as brewing 10 or 40 cups. Great for parties, get togethers or just for your own enjoyment. The other thing I enjoyed was that you did not have to hold anything down to get the coffee, just put your cup where the spout is, press and enjoy your coffee, the red light will tell you when it is done. Easy to clean and stored. You can, if you like, use a filter or not. it depends on the coffee grounds you buy.

Large Capacity Coffee Urn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Reviewing BrewStation 40540R. Has a locking lid- be sure to secure prior to brewing. Electric cord approximately 24 inches long, made to use with percolator coffee for best results, but I emptied K-pods with good results and no granules in coffe. Begins brewing when plugged in, took about 15 minutes to finish, ready light shows when done. Coffee cup easily presses handle to fill cup, urn switches to keep warm when brewing done. Silver part of urn is hot to touch- keep away from little hands! Remained fresh for hours after brewing. Will be great item for group meetings and family gatherings.
