Slow is the way to go!

Sometimes Slow is the way to go!
I hadn’t owned a slow cooker for years. The last one I had ended up packed away in the garage because it was so rarely used and I didn’t have the extra space inside. This slow cooker by Hamilton Beach looks good. It has a really nice, heavy crock with lid and a silicon band that you’re supposed to stretch across the lid from handle to handle to secure it when you take it with you. The one thing I noticed was the metal trim around the lid has a slight gap in it that causes your skin to catch on it, not a big issue but it could’ve been finished better. Otherwise, it appears to be made well compared to a one a friend just bought of another brand. It has high, low, and keep warm settings.
Anyway I made a chuck roast in it with carrots, onions and celery with beef broth, salt, pepper, a little garlic powder and it turned out great! I used the low setting and had filled the crock to about 3/4 full, then put on the lid and went about my day. In 8 hours the roast was so tender and the aroma was to die for! I like the keep warm setting, that will come in handy. Now I’m thinking slow IS the way to go.. I think we’ll have slow cooker chili tomorrow night, perfect for the cold weather! I’m very happy with my new slow cooker from Hamilton Beach and it has its own place in my kitchen!

Easiest Slow Cooker Ever

The crock is heavy duty and transfers the heat the way it should. Meals come out cooked evenly and delicious. It’s light enough to make it a great travel slow cooker and the contents are sure to be a hit at the Church Social!

NICE Slow Cooker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] first of all it is a Great Slow Cooker and it do Cook and Hold just enough for 5 Quart of a Nice piece of Meat or any Meals that you can put in it and Walk away for a Couple of Hours!Reason for 4 Stars is that this had a Rubber Band to Hold The Lid on during Cooking for help with Pressure Well after i unbox it and Left it over Night on my Counter with the Band on it (IT SNAP)and shot across my Room! had to go to a Big Box store to replace it Before i could even use this Crock Pot!was a little annoy and had to wait a Couple of Day for the Replacement anyway Nothing else is Wrong with this Awesome Cooker i like that you just turn it on High or Low and Warm after you Finish Cooking & OFF when you Finish This is a Great Cooker everyone should Have one in Different Size For all kinds of Family Cooking

Great slow cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is the perfect size. Not to big not to small. Cooked a big pot of chilli in it. Let it cook all day. Kitchen smelled great. We loved the taste. Thought it was better than cooked on the stove. Put all the ingredients in set the temp and forget it. No watching or stirring just let it cook. We ate several helpings and had enough to freeze some.

I have used the cooker three times now since receiving it, twice for soups and once for cooking chicken. Each time the food has cooked as expected and nicely done. No Frills Slow Cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 5 quart slow cooker is a no frills basic slow cooker. It does the job as promised. My firsr item to cook was whole sweet potatoes with the peel, a lazy way to bake several at one time without using the oven. I cooked them on high as my directions instructed; they cooked with no problem even though I did 2 layers instead of one. The slow cooker has 4 positions, off, keep warm, low and high. The top is clear so that you can see how well whatever you're cooking is doing. The outside does get hot so you will need to be aware and take proper precautions as you would any stand alone kitchen accessory that heats. A strong elastic cord to keep the lid in place when carrying or traveling with the cooker is a plus. I do regret it doesn't have a light that shows when it's on and the cord to plug it in is quite short. I do believe that's supposed to be a safety feature but I personally find it more irritating when you have a limited numbr of outlets on your countertops. No light, short electric cord and the fact of how hot the outside gets is the main reason for my rating of 4 instead of 5 stars. If you are in need of a slow cooker and don't want any bells or whistles of the more sophisticated models, this is the one you want.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new slow cooker, i always get Hamilton Beach, this one is oval shaped 5 quart cooker and it has a lid latch strap on it, now i can take with me to pot luck dinners and not worry about the lid coming off, Im making chicken soup today to take to my daughters as she has been sick with the flu!!!
