Had high hopes.....but

This refrigerator is attractive to look at but it's functionality is bad. The drawers cracked and do not open correctly now. That is really the only complaint on the refrigerator part. The freezer is awful! You have to break your back to get ice from the container and when you pull the freezer basket out (which is not easy) all the ice falls behind the basket. If it was not for the freezer I would recommend, but it just makes the whole package fail. Believe me, the freezer will frustrate and aggravate you on a daily basis so find something else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

circuit board troubles

My refrigerator will be 5 years old next month. I have had the circuit board replaced twice and the evac motor once. Seems to me that I shouldn't have all these failures with the frig not that old.

Produce drawers are TERRIBLE!

I had high hopes for this refrigerator, after having a GE Profile before (larger capacity, but no longer available). Love the bottom freezer, love all the shelf space in the refrigerator considering its (smaller to me) size. HATE HATE HATE the produce drawers, they "catch" on a little hump, don't slide out smoothly, can't open all the way, and within one week of using the refrigerator, one had cracked. Within 10 days, the other drawer had broken. And by this time, we had started putting produce on the shelves to avoid the hassle of the produce drawers. My old GE Profile produce drawers were GREAT!!! I want smooth pulling drawers with no "humps" or "catches", and am returning this refrig ASAP. I will be test driving every single produce drawer in future refrigs before buying another one. Bummer, I really wanted this refrig!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this refrigerator...the color, the large shelves and the overall appearance. However, the quality of the produce drawers is not very good. Both of the drawers cracked within 2 weeks and now do not slide evenly into place.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wide trays fit great. The swing door on the freezer Is great for accessibility. The baskets slide out, like drawers, but not as smoothly as I wish. The freezer over all is small for the size of the refrigerator.(my only disappointment)

Hard to organize

I find it hard to organize the refrigerator portion. Without removing a shelf, I don't have enough room for large items, like a large turkey. The height between the shelves is not very high.

Was apprehensive about purchasing this particular unit because of previous bad reviews and problems with the slide out crisper drawers. Either GE has addressed the issue or people were uncommonly careless when opening them. I have had my unit for about a month now and have had NO issues! I didn't like the curved false upper front door at first but it is growing on me. I would, however suggest that GE address the screw holes on the door handle that are just a plain eye sore that detract from the clean lines! A continual disappointment that even my husband notices EVERY time we open it. He is going to try to flip the handle over so the unsightly holes face the opposite way but hasn't got around to it yet. Great value for the size.
I would recommend this to a friend!
