Hesitant at first...

When I started looking around for a new printer I was looking at the "other guys" because they are the only printer brand I used ever since windows came out.
Best Buy had reps for the "other guys" and Epson and he approached me and tried to sell me something I really did not want. I kept going back to the Artisan 800 and he kept going back to some other model. The next day I went back and purchased the Artisan 800 took it home to find the installation was very easy and I was up and printing in no time. The Artisan 800 is all I had hoped for and more - I love it. It installed to our network quickly without any hassles. I sent for the optional automatic duplexer, something I really need in a printer. As for print quality, it far surpasses what I had been used to.
The "other guys" lost out and I am glad I gave Epson a first look.

Did not work

I received my Artisian 800 and started to set it up. I got as far as putting in the language time and date before I got an error message. Needless to say the printer will be shipped back to Epson for a replacement. I will write another review when I receive it and am able to see how it really works.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Printer

The reason Purchased this printer was because the Sales rep at the store i purchased it from show me how sweet and easy it was to do certain things like print to disk, print photos directly from memory card. The Pictures of my family looked as if i had them done professionally. the only thing that i don't like is the amount of ink it uses. you would think that at this price it would be more economical. If you want duplexing you need to purchase the duplexer. It holds it own against other printers in it class and should make you happy and satisfied because it has features that will just cause you to wanna play with it for weeks.

I just got it today and have already printed over 30 4X6's and several 8X10's and larger..... the quality of the photo prints including black and whites is impressive. I am truly loving the ease of use and nice results. Had a little trouble installing the drivers automatically so did it myself and everything worked flawlessly. So far no problems I can see, not sure how the cost will be for ink, but thus far I am happy with the prints and all the nice features.
I would recommend this to a friend!

should have mentioned that for networking you need to set up the WEP codes in the printer PRIOR to having it be recognized for setup. This would have saved me a lot of grief in the setup, but at least I figured it out for myself. General print quality is top flight and FAST! Smooth and quiet IMHO not noisy as some reported. I love the build quality and looks (very sexy) and well, what can one say, that control panel is sweet. I found it so intuitive that I haven't even needed to read the manual. Only problem so far is I haven't figured out why my photo printing is horrible. It lays out a flood of ink on the photo paper for some reason. I'll be speaking with tech support about that today. otherwise it does as advertised.

this thing does everything- and very well- it prints on the cd it actuall has a cd recorder also great print quality. some of it is a little flimsy ( i broke my last brother printer trying to get the paper tray out) wireless is good -fax is great fast printing-- i wonder if i can add memory to go even faster 10 seconds now!!

Best Printer Purchase Yet

Epson’s Artisan 800 is loaded with features and it’s competitively priced. We also want to comment on Epson’s wireless connectivity which is called WIFI. I could not have spend my money on a better All-In-One. I especially purchased it for the double sided printing. I would recommend it to anyone in the home or office. This is my second All-In-One and my third printer. This is the best.
