The only problem I had was with that little yellow thingie inside the unit this disables the unit for shipment. I was confused as to where it goes, but when I figured it out...gangbusters! A beautiful printer! Works flawlessly!
Got the duplexer today for automatic two-sided printing, and it it works fine! Those who get this feature must realize that the printer must pause before printing on the reverse side to allow the ink to dry. A prompt in the unit's window speaks of reducing the ink density and to adjust the drying time that may be appropriate to the "glossiness" (which may effect drying time) of the paper you are using (I think.)
Anyway, I am pleased with this printer, so far. I have yet to use the scanner and other features.
Oh, and BTW, it set-up flawlessly on a "WiFi" connection to my wireless Linksys router unit without a problem, but you must pay attention to the prompt that will have you connect the ethernet csble to the wireless router itself as the final stage of configuring your printer! :)

Big Problem Feeding Paper
on December 13, 2008

After printing about 130 pages on Epson Premium Presentation Paper (remember - you HAVE to buy Epson brand paper, or your prints turn out horrible!) the paper feed stopped detecting 30 or more pages in the paper tray. It fails repeatedly with the error message that there's no paper in the tray or that there's a paper jam. Of course, there's no paper jam. You have to remove the tray after every page is printed, shake the paper up to the intake end of the tray so it's almost coming out of the tray, in order for the intake mechanism to detect that it has paper. This seems to be characteristic of this printer - works great when brand new - but paper feed performance degrades rapidly over time. I already returned one to Best Buy for this problem and thought that the replacement had solved the issue. Wrong! I will limp through this project this week and then take the thing back for a full refund after I've used up the 3 packages of Epson premium paper.

One Great printer

This printer is quiet, fast and up to any challenge so far. Setup was easy. I had seen comments about the "flimsy" paper tray, and it is what I would call "flexible". So far, I have had no problems with it. The pictures printed are absolutely beautiful. I was skeptical how good the print quality would be in a multifunction printer, but let me assure you- you won't be disappointed at all. One comment: printing in draft makes text print very light. I would prefer it to be darker. Normal printing is fine. I have faxed, scanned , printed text and photos with not one problem. This printer will not let you down.

Quality Pictures, Fast Documents

The quality and speed of the printer, as well as wireless, were the main reasons of this purchase. Pictures come out look perfect, you can adjust the properties of the printer to print in an order that suits you, that will automatically fix red eye without having to even touch the great software that comes with it. Ok well the software is better then anything that I have to deal with compared to other printers, I actually install it on all the computers as its helpful, but it ain't photoshop cs4. Quality prints take a while, which all depends on the paper you use. I havn't used any Epson brand paper, and it all works fine and looks great, though I don't do any picture prints on anything but ultra premium glossy. I have yet to get a real paper jam, only run out of paper, and as long as you have the tray set to the right size paper, you will not get paper jams. The speed of this printer is also great, I can print something off right before I go to a lecture and not have to worry about being late.

Great, but...

Great printer, fast scanning, but does not handle card stock well. Attempted to print message on my X-mas cards this year. Jammed frequently because it pulled in two or more cards at a time. Tried all the different paper settings. Eventually had to load one card in the tray at a time and most of the time got an out of paper error message. Some paper settings resulted in excess globs of ink on the edge of the cards. That exception aside, daily printing/copying/scanning/faxing I couldn't be happier. Oh, It'd be nice if it was possible to have simultanteous USB & WiFi connection instead of one or the other.
