Cleans well, BUT...

I bought this along with the matching dryer in March, 2009. I absolutely loved both appliances; performance was great, and the capacity was impressive. However, in early-mid 2014 it began making a very loud noise while spinning- bad bearings. We replaced the bearings in late November 2014. The new bearings worked fine for a few months, but the loud noises began again, and we figured it wasn't worth the cost to repair it a second time. Today it finally went, and it's a very expensive dead machine, only 6 years old. I've always favored Whirlpool products, but I have to admit this is making me rethink that opinion. Now I'm stuck with a dryer in this color of blue, without the ability to match it with a new washing machine. These machines are in my kitchen, so it does matter how they look. I'm also not sure that I want to purchase another Whirlpool washer, but I probably can't stack my dryer on top of another brand's machine. I'm very disappointed, Whirlpool!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
