Great TV at a Great Price

Not sure why this is priced so low, because it's value far exceeds the amount I spent. The biggest drawback is that I can't leave the couch now!
Great blacks and colors, very easy to set up, and auto-offs so no image burn.
The only issue I have with it is the lack of audio-out options. The only sound system you can hook up is a optical-out system.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Quality

A great tv!

My first large(er) tv. Couldn't be happier. Sharp picture , very useful menu options. sound quality is superb. I highly recommend a plasma especially for sports.

Superb design and features

Could not be more pleased, love the screen size, my first 42inch plasma TV. The clarity and color out of sight, I actually went into the dealers store for a specific LG 42inch in mind, but, they were out of stock in that model. I was then offered this model at the same price and made an instant decision to buy...really excited to get home and found how easy the set up was, excellent instructions. I absolutely LOVE my LG, and also have a 32inch LG, which I use as monitor for my computer. I'm one HAPPY old senior, relaxed and enjoying both !! Yay.....

Nice TV till it went crazy

I have had this TV just over 12 months. This week it went crazy. When you push the input button on remote it shut itself off, when you touch the mute button or the vol on the cable remote it shuts itself off, it stays off for 4 to 5 minutes then comes back on and the mentioned buttons work correctly for about 10 minutes. There may be other buttons that shut it off and I have just not run across them. I expected better from this TV than to go bad two weeks after the warranty ran out. Consumer reports had listed it as excellent. I probably won't buy LG brand again after this

Traded ' down' to LG... Super excited about the extra vivid super awesome picture. I don't even pay for cable. Just stream from xbox and roku. So very go we bought LG :)

Basic Plasma is better than LED

After auditioning 2 different LED sets in my home, I chose to go with a plasma display.
It is unfortunate that these are no longer being manufactured, but I'm fortunate to have been able to purchase a plasma TV before the stock was completely depleted.
There is no motion blur with this plasma TV and the colors are accurate. I would have preferred to have more HDMI inputs on this TV, but I made up for it by connecting the TV to an AVR.
I really don't like the fact that this TV only has a digital audio output. Analogue outputs are much more useful, as they can be used with headphones, a legacy audio system, or even the latest and greatest AVR.
The digital audio out leaves a noticeable gap between the dialogue from an OTA and the dialogue being output to whatever device is connected via the digital optical audio output.
That is my main gripe with this TV.
The picture quality is very good for a "bargain" priced TV. The audio quality is ok. I like the built in swivel stand / base. This is a very good looking TV. The menu system is a little basic, but it is easy to follow.
This tTV allows the user to get into some very technical picture quality settings, and I really appreciate that this feature is available on this TV. This is , perhaps, one of the most important features to include in a TV set and LG got this part right.
I would definitely recommend this TV to a friend.

refresh rate is very fast hence not required digital connection till last years.

Very good picture. Wide viewing area from sides without picture fade. Expanded menu with great features. Over the air input. The only dislike to me is sound quality. Sounds a little tinnie to me. Overall a great tv at a reasonable price.
