Overpriced, doors are horrible.

We purchased both the washer and dryer in July, 2010, and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. They are overpriced for the performance. The washer cleans decently, but the dryer takes too long to dry. The doors do not close well, nor do they stay closed. The dryer door is out of sync, even though it has been adjusted several times, and pops open during the drying cycle, and the clothes fall out. You have to lift up on the dryer door in order to close it. If I could return for a refund, I would.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it!!

I've been very pleased with this dryer by Electrolux. I would recommend this product to everyone, especially if they have teenagers that are learning to do their own laundry. It's easy to use and there are no excuses on not "knowing" how to use it!

Noisy at start-up

We bought a new Electrolux washer & dryer last fall as part of a remodel project. A good part of the reason we decided on these models was they were the only ones on the market that had a recess all across the back of the dryer to accommodate the dryer hose and the doors on both units could be configured to open either left or right. Both appliances work quite well and the washer is very quiet when operating. However, the dryer makes a rather loud thumping noise when it first starts up that fades away after a minute or so. It is also louder in operation than the washer ~ more than I expected. I also had a problem with the dryer when trying to dry a bathroom rug in a mixed load of laundry. The non-skid backing on it got caught in the front edge of the drum and brought the drum to a complete halt. Fortunately, I was nearby and pulled it out. I tried it again thinking that was a fluke and it happened again, so I no longer try to dry those in the dryer. Other than that, we're happy with both appliances.

Improvement needed

The lint filter needs a verification presence read switch so that the dryer cannot be run unless it is inserted.
Drum is very noise when turning.
Unit dries clothes very quickly.

I like my new dryer overall. I like the shortened cycles, which saves energy. I can fit quite a lot into the dryer, which also saves time and energy.

Practically Perfect in Every Way!!

This is the best dryer EVER!!! Comforters, towels, huge loads of clothers, whaterver I throw in it.....it gets dry! This dryer is huge. I have cut 8 loads of laundry per week down to 5! The controls are easy to use- very intuitive. I love the push to open door- I can carry in a basket full of clothes, tap the door with my knee, and ta da...the door swings open and in go the clothes!!! The favorite button is great as well, just one touch and I have perfectly dry clothing. I can't say enough about this time saving appliance...definately makes my life better and laundry day easy as pie!

QUALITY leads! Not just name

Electrolux is the BEST washer I have ever owned. The best of this washer is reversible door (I did it in half hour). The washer is so quiet; I have to touch it to know it is working. The vibration control is unbelievable!! Colors stay sharp and my whites stay bright, as the washer is very gentle on my clothes but gets them very clean (I even can see the result on dog's toy). I would highly recommend this machine to anyone looking for a washer.
