In the three years we’ve had this oven. The control board has failed twice. Three knobs have broken. It is disappointing.

Hello! We're truly sorry that this has been the experience with your Café gas range. This is not what we expect from our appliances. Our product team would like to look into this further for you. If you could, please email your contact details as well as a copy of your review to: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/contact-others.htm
I was so looking forward to getting this stove unfortunately it has not lived up to my expectations, I bought it for baking and the gas oven (I thought I was buying gas top, electric oven - my mistake) just does not do a good job baking, I'm having to guess at all my tried and true recipes as to adding at least 25 deg to the heat suggested and leaving things in for at least 10 minutes or more, to make sure they are cooked. This includes bread, cakes, casseroles.
The top of the stove has grooves where the top sits on top of the oven, they get tons of dirt in them which is almost impossible to get clean.
The grids are big and heavy and a pain to wash, have to wash them in my laundry tub.
First month, the burner knob "trim/skirts" melted....turns out these are plastic and after a long day cooking Thanksgiving dinner items, they could not take the heat and deformed.
Stove arrived with one oven bulb burned out. second oven bulb burnt-out with in 3 months (it's not like it's 'on' very often)... oh ya, GE SELLs bulbs too!
Also the metal knobs get REALLY hot ... OUCH...doesn't leave a mark, but would cause a child to cry if they touched it.
knobs obviously went through some revision and we got a mixed set. A few are labeled with "big" letters and the other 2 with smaller letters.
Flame on one large burner adjusts poorly. from setting 3-8 no difference is flame.
only have had it for 9 mo and already smell unburned gas when using it. and yes we cleaned the gas orifice etc.
Expected a lot more from this NEW oven!
(The last oven we owned (other brand) lasted 10 yrs and never a problem like this, until the control board failed.)
I got this when I moved into my new house. In general, it is excellent. I had a service man come out because the front burner didn't burn properly and he took one of my husband's tools and filed it to try to make a makeshift miniature screwdriver to fix behind the knob. He didn't fix it and said that he would come out when he got his tool back from someone else. Haven't seen him, yet; and, I even called the cell number he left behind. The oven light went out within the second month.
I've only bought GE appliances for 45 years. My father was a research scientist for GE in Schenectady, NY, so I tried to be loyal. Unfortunately the quality of GE's appliances have gone downhill. When the gas range that I purchased in October was installed it leaked gas! It took weeks to fix. I've taken out an extended service agreement as a result. the range looks great, has great features, but a new appliance should not arrive broken!!
We bought this stove in October as we renovated out kitchen, replacing an electric model. We like the gas cooktop but the oven seems to vent an exorbitant amount of heat compared to other ovens. I don't see us using the oven in the summer months if the A/C is running.
so happy to have made the purchase looks great in our kitchen, no issues other than when we first used the stove it smelt like something was melting but no issues since
