great Idea, poor execution

Have tried to use the SmartDispense pedastal for over a year now. It never has been working satisfactorily from our perspective. Dingy whites are only one example. Clogged detergent tubes and other problems have led to repeated service calls. I think I now know more about this than the service people. Ready to buy a competitors machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the washer, dryer, and pedestals when they first came out. I love them and hope they last forever! I haven't experienced any of the difficulties mentioned in the other reviews. I wonder if that is because I use the washer almost daily? Certainly, nothing has clogged. I'm disappointed that this model of washer is no longer offered. Eventually my appliances will need to be replaced and I know I won't like anything else as well. I'm older now and reaching for detergent bottles and lifting them to pour has become more difficult. I'm far happier since I just push a button.

These are the best machines I’ve ever owned

I have owned my GE Profile machines for several years. I was looking for upgrades to the machines and I am really disappointed that they are no longer being offered. I got extremely ill and with these machines my husband was able to take care of the laundry. I hope that you bring them back. Mine are working fine for now but I will buy them again. GH from Colorado

Softener pump continues to fail.

I've owned this for 6 years and the softener dispensing pump has failed for the 5th time. Evidently the materials used in the pump can't handle fabric softener. Do you have a replacement pump where the peristaltic tubing can survive?

A suggestion for improvement

This is a great idea but may I suggest for greater success you consider mounting this dispenser drawer on top and allow gravity to assist with the flow of detergent. Another feature that would help prevent clogged jets is if you has a self rinse feature to flush the dispenser jets with water automatically during the rinse cycles rather than the consumer having to rinse it after each wash.
The dispenser on top would also be helpful in a design for those that would like to raise the washer and dryer up to waist height for easier loading and unloading and have the hampers (roll away for greater efficiency) mounted in cabinets below the washer and dryer. There is more room below for this design feature with the dispenser drawer on top which prevents the need for bending or kneeling for those with bad backs. The area above washers is usually wasteful space anyway, especially with front loading. It is often a space filled with hard to access cabinets anyway.

We have had this smart dispense pedestal for 3 plus years and we love it. The only issue we have had is the fabric softener container has clogged 1 time. Only issue we have had.

We love the concept of having the smart dispense however the clogging of the lines to the washer has become a real issue. I now understand why they no longer offer this on new washers!!

We love our pedestal

We are using our SmartDispense pedestal since 2011. Our washer recently stopped working. Now when we are searching for new washer we cannot imagine working without the SmartDispense pedestal, the hassle of measuring & putting detergent every time. We never had to think about putting detergent. it was so convenient. Never had any issues regarding clogging or anything like that. We would really like to replace the same washer which will be compatible with our pedastal. But we cannot find any.
