It cooks stuff

When I need to cook stuff, I turn it on and it gets hot. If I turn on the burners, they get hot. If I turn on the oven, it gets hot. There are buttons and knobs to tell which part is going to get hot. In all, I would definitely say that this is an electric range.

Nice clean look, simple operation. I like the dual burner option - most convenient.

Great slide in stove, good features, could use minor tweaks

This is our first smooth top stove. The residue builup during cooking is probably normal, but a little bit of a nuisance. I tried the convection feature once with biscuits. There was zero time saved baking. I will need to try with a roast or something to see if it is effective. The controls are a little quirky and not as inuitive as they could be. The Start/Cancel buttons can affect the timer and the oven operation. I had one episode of cancelling the timer only to come back later and learn I had turned off the oven, extending my cooking time. I think the timer controls and oven controls should remain distinct from another. Also, if technologically feasable, it would be nice to have a smaal LED indicator at/near each burner to indicate that it is on. This may prevent a mistake I made where I turned on a front burner incorrectly and instead of heating a pot on the rear, I ended up breaking a glass serving plate on the front. Thes are MINOR issues and should not dissuade consumers from purchasing and using this range as designed. Good product, great style. consistent cooking. I love it.

DIALS AND OVEN TEMPERATURE
on August 2, 2014

I find the dials very difficult to turn. One must push in and use whole hand to turn the dials. This is not ergonomically correct. Previous stoves I have owned required the use of a thumb and forefinger. As I get older I have some arthritis in my wrist and it makes me wonder who does the testing for your products. Persons of all ages? My problem is a very common one and a different dial would suffice for everyone. Such an easy change to make. This dial was the norm on your stoves regardless of price. I am also having a problem with the oven temperature. The buzzer rings when the set temperature has not been reached. For example it rings at 300 degrees when set for 350. Nothing was baking correctly so I bought an oven thermometer to test it and found I needed to wait at least 7 minutes after the buzzer rings before putting food in the oven. This is most inconvenient. I am sadly disappointed because I will probably never purchase another appliance so am stuck with a microwave with no sound and a stove timer which does not work correctly. A friend purchased the same stove and is not happy with it because of the oven temperature. I cook a great deal and with my health and history plan to be around another 20 years
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
