Lousy device - does not even do simple things

This device was a complete wasted of time. I purchased it to play DVDs on my new HP PC (most PCs no longer come with media players). I guess is this latest 'unbundling' aspect of companies that get to 'reduce the sticker price' of what you buy - but then you pay more later... Like having to pay for seat assignments or baggage on a plane. Anyway - this device does not even play movie DVDs. The software that runs the device (Cyberlink) makes you upgrade (!) to a more expensive version to do that. No thanks! What a waste of money...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't even plug this in! Where are the instructions? On a CD I can't use because I can't even attach it to my laptop to use the CD? I bought this so I can use CDs and this is garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even wrap my head around this to call and get assistance.
