Simply one of the best lens I have ever used. Standard 85mm makes it the perfect portrait lens in any collection, but this one is magical. It is super sharp, super fast F1.8 and come on, CZ auto-focus, Zeiss doesn't normally do auto-focus for other brands. The photos it produces just pop, there's nothing else like it (full frame range).
I really like the old pre-SSM motor on this 85mm. I also own the CZ 50mm which is SSM but I much prefer this 85mm motor, it makes a noticeable hum when it focuses, which makes it feel like a solid piece of engineering. Personally I don't mind it at all, for I don't use it for videography, but portraiture.
The lens comes with a pouch and a metal lens hood, an awesome lens hood.
Paraphrasing someone's comment that I keep repeating to others is that this lens alongside the a99 is the setup that will convert most users to Sony.
