My monitor just stopped working,

My monitor just stopped working, never really had any issues before...suddenly...it's just a black screen..I tried calling in but the girl couldn't help me and I bought a new adapter but it still doesn't work..Is there any way I can buy a new monitor for an older system? LW2932
