Food is cold, but the ice maker ruins this fridge!

This fridge came with the home we purchased about a year ago. I'm really wishing the previous owners would have taken it with them! Yes, the fridge keeps your food cold. However, the ice maker / dispenser is absolutely horribly designed. First, it's confusing. Guests come over and don't realize where the water vs ice actually comes out which usually results in water or ice all over the floor. The other issue is that the ice consistently gets clogged which forces you to stick your hand up inside the thing to loosen the ice. Once you've done that, the ice comes loose and dumps a hundred cubes all over the floor. I can't count how many times this has happened. Definitely would NOT recommend this particular fridge.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect Choice for Demanding Consumer

The fridge is nicely illuminated inside. The thru the door ice maker system is awesome. With 5 to 6 persons using fridge, ice never has run out and unit holds 2-liters and large pizza boxes just fine. Bins and shelving easy to setup and clean. Unit is quiet in operation. Setting and maintaining temperatures is a snap! Overall very pleased with this product so far!

need a new water filter every 6 months ice make jams up if I do not empty it on a regular bases. The plastic tray that you set glass on to get ice the gray has worn off from cleaning. would have been better if it was stainless steel instead of plastic.

I was specifically looking for a side by side refrigerator/freezer with the ice maker in the door, so there was more usable space in the freezer. LG had 1 of only 2 models that I found with this feature. Has lots of room and I love it.
