Excellent product! Excellent company support! When my trash can lid hinge failed prematurely Simplehuman shipped a replacement immediately. This is a great trust builder between customer and corporation. I will purchase company products in the future.

Love it so far!

Have had my simplehuman step can (38 liter size) for about a month now and it works great! I went with the 'step' model as I don't want to keep replacing batteries. The plastic insert makes it easy to change out the bags. When open, you can see that it has a little red slider thingy (on back right side) that you can push to keep the lid open if, say, you're peeling carrots directly into the can.
I do have to wipe it down daily with a sponge to keep clean - true that fingerprints aren't a big issue, but it does get smudges/spots/etc. at times -- normal for any trash can.

I never thought it could be possible to love a trashcan--indeed, I never would have considered it a "thing". I was wrong. This is a thing of beauty and brings me pleasure every day: it is well designed, well made, and does exactly what it is supposed to do with poise and serenity. Bliss.
