Works well but it's too big.

However, once I unwrapped all the boxes it was ridiculous to return it so I'm living with it. When I ordered it I did not think it would be so massive as it was the smallest of the units.

Great Garbage Can!

We purchased this garbage can twelve years ago, and it lasted until now, surviving a family of two parents and three boys for twelve years. It only recently broke, and you better believe I bought the same item again! Plus, I couldn't find any other can with a virtually flat back that you can set right up against a wall without space behind it, even standing open. Definitely worth the price and should last you a long time!

Ok, but perhaps a little smellier than others

We got this trash can for our kitchen to replace our older simplehuman kitchen can. This one has an opening on the backside of the can that allows you to grip the can to move it easily. But, this also means that there's less of a barrier between you and the trash contents. It feels like the seal in this can for containing trash smells just isn't as good as our previous can.
We've also been using Glad and Hefty trash bags with various odor-blocking additives, but these bags (13 gal bags) fit poorly in this newer simplehuman can.
Overall, this can is OK, but I kind of which we'd stuck with our less expensive, older simplehuman can.

I bought one over 20 years ago ( not sure the exact date) , the lynch pin broke, tried to see if there was a replacement part, but was not successful since I didn’t have the model or s/n. I asked just to tell me where I could look to see if they had parts list for their older models. But they kept asking for the numbers couldn’t because I could not see on the wastebasket. So I bought a new one. Love it .
