I really like my new stainless steel trash can for my kitchen! I can tell it will last a long time because it's very well made.

Almost perfect

It’s the perfect size for my kitchen and is very easy to keep clean. Yes, it has a little switch to prop the lid up, but I do wish it had a touch-opening. It’s annoying to have to always step on the treadle when I need to quickly open it.

We just moved into a new home and don't have a good cupboard to put our trash can in, so we had to buy one that can sit out on the floor. I was annoyed because trash cans are usually such an eye sore, but this one doesn't bother me at all! It's so nice to be able to open it with your foot, I'm really happy I chose simplehuman.

This is the second one we purchased. The first one lasted 18 years and we hope the second one last as long. You won't go wrong buying one of their trash cans

Nice can; wish it were compatible with the compost caddy

This is a great can, as far as it goes. I bought it to replace a prior simplehuman can, also great. But part of the reason I bought this (slightly smaller) one was the the compost caddy had been heavily promoted in my social media, and I thought when I bought this can that I could later add the compost caddy, when my neighborhood adds municipal composting. That has now happened -- but it turns out the compost caddy is not compatible with this can! I guess that's not a fault of this can per se -- if I had done my homework better and compared the various pages, the information was available on the site-- but it's an annoying feature of the site's marketing. If you think you may want accessories, check compatibility before you buy.

I really like it as I can hide my trash from view. We purchased a lake house and the previous owners left their trash can. I liked it so well that I decided to get one for our home.
