How to get excellent results with this dishwasher

Ha! Just kidding. It is impossible to get excellent results with this machine. To get barely usable results until you can afford to have this thing ripped out and replaced, follow these steps: 1. Put a dish in every other slot. The tines were placed far too close together by the marketing department. "Cleans 18 placesettings!" As if. Not in this world. 2. Always use the pot scrubber setting. 3. Always use the extra rinse. 4. Wash all flatware by hand.
Little wonder this thing has been discontinued. It's worthless.

Have had it for only 1 month but so far performing beyond expectations. So quiet you can't tell it's running. Dishes come out sparkling clean AND dry. Large capacity and energy star qualified a huge plus. Stainless inside a nice touch too. Only con is that the power cord was too short and had to be replaced. But other than that so far a great dishwasher.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design
Cons: power cord too short

Wonderfully Quiet

Well I replaced a dishwasher with this one after reading a bunch of reviews from other brands and models. I found this one to have the best features for the price. Complete Stanless Steel tub, ease of use controls, large capacity, wine glass holders, many jets and etc.
This model not only cleans dishes wonderfully, but it is extremely quiet...it's easy to run the dishwasher when entertaining friends in the kitchen because you can barely tell that it's on. It even has nice little sounds when you press buttons.
I would buy this product again for sure! It cleans great every time I use it.
Cons: Make sure you use the gel for spot-free dishes and good detergent; sometimes it will leave a film if you don't. However, once I use good name brand detergent all problems are solved with the unit. A bit hard to fit in some cabinets and you do need to have an elbow kit to install it, it doesn't come with one and it should.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design

Worst dishwasher I have owned

I bought this LG dishwasher about 3 years ago. I also bought other LG appliances (washer, dryer, and microwave) at the same time. This dishwasher was quite expensive in comparison to other comparable units; but was sold on the good reputation of the company. What a mistake!!! This is by far the worst dishwasher I have owned. Within 6 months of owning the unit, I had an awful sound coming out of it; had to call the company. No repair techs in my state (FL), had to get a repair tech from GA to come down. His conclusion - there was a long strand of hair that was interfering with the functioning of the washer. Mediocre cleaning since then; I pre-wash and frequently have had to rewash dishes. Now it is making an awful grinding noise. Not worth it to fix; going to chuck this unit and get a new one. What a waste of money!!!!

Very Quiet

This dishwasher has many similar features to a previous dishwasher that we owned, so we knew what we wanted. This unit has not disappointed us. It is very quiet and we like the stainless interior. As with many of the LG appliances the musical chime when the cleaning cycle is complete is very clever and pleasant.

Disappointed

I bought this dishwasher because I own a LG front loading washer and dryer and love the quietness of the machines. While it is a very quiet machine, it doesn't dry the dishes well, and within 2 months, I had to call the repair man to come out and fix it. Ironically, he said that this was a common problem for this unit. It's working fine for now, but I'm afraid the investment might not be worth it if it breaks again.

Yuck!

I've had this dishwasher for over a year, and it hasn't cleaned well since the day it was installed. Yes, it's quiet and looks nice, but I kills me that I have to hand wash 1/4 of my load...even after cleaning the plates before loading. I have even tried every detergent out there. Wish I researched this machine a bit more before I bought it. Buyer beware!

Very difficult to load!

This dishwasher seems like it is designed to hold doll dishes. Nothing fits! It's very frustrating. The prongs are too close together to load any normal size dish. The dinner plates collapse on each other, the glasses don't fit in the racks and there is no place for bowls. None of my silverware will fit in through the grids in the silverware baskets. I had to tear the tops off. It's just ridiculous! It's quiet, it cleans well and the dishes are dry when it's finished. Some dishwasher designer needs to try to load normal size dishes in it and see the problem.
