Epson needs better Linux support

I replaced my NX420 printer with the XP-410 model, and setup on Windows 7 went very well.
However, installing the printer drivers on
my SUSE Linux system was very confusing and took about 2 hours to finally get the drivers installed. EPSON really needs to do a better job supporting Linux with printer drivers. You should not need to be a Linux engineer just to get printer drivers installed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hard to link up

I was able to link up to my laptop using windows 7 quickly. It was a totally different story with 8.1. It took almost a dozen times of it searching for the printer before I could finally link up. Don't know if problem is 8.1 or with Epson program. As far as the printer goes I like it a lot. Prints very good photo's for the price.

Epson site lists a driver but takes you to a dead link.

epson xp-410

I just made the purchase and set it up. Set up was very easy and had no problems. It runs very quite when printing. The price of ink seems to be cheap, the others have gotten pretty expensive. That was the reason I had the purchase to this Epson xp-410. We will see how it goes so far so good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

No comprendo Espanol

The setup defaulted to Spanish on the control panel so I went to online support to see how to change it to English after I installed the driver. It said to right click on the printer icon in task bar. The problem was that it did not install that icon - only the scanner icon, so I had to call support. You basically need to be able to read Spanish to change the readout to English. That is why the two stars - I haven't had the XP-410 long enough to rate the performance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My First Epson

I was attracted to the Epson XP-410 because of its small size with all of the 3-In-One features. As an educator for 40+ years, I have used a variety of printers. For my home use, now that I am retired, I find it so easy to install with the directions being easy to understand. The print quality is excellent. The only personal negative is the printer is slow. But, since it's for home use, I can live with that. The price is very reasonable and I would highly recommend this printer for private, personal use. If it is used at home and one has children who need to run many pages for school assignments I would not recommend it because of the slow printing.

Installation was very easy. I was afraid to start, that it would be difficult, or that instructions would be hard to understand. The installation software walked me right through the process. It was like the printer installed itself. I am very happy with the ease of setting it all up. Thank you, Epson. I am so far very satisfied with the product that I have purchased.

Take it slow

Like anything else take your time and study the manual before beginning.
I was a little nervous at first but Epson's instruction were okay.
Downloaded as instructed and then setup my connection to wireless network per directions.
The printer works beautifully from my Mac, iPad, iPhone and iPod. Also works great from my husband's laptop. We tested copying, scanning and printing. Works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
