The best compromise

I purchased this refrigerator after finding that most French door models would not fit in the space I have. The spacious refrigerator on top is perfect for me because it is the aspect of the appliance I use the most. I replaced a side-by-side the space arrangement of which never worked well in the refrigerator or, especially, the freezer. The bottom freezer, top refrigerator is a much more satisfying arrangement. The freezer is large enough for me [single, live alone] and I find it easy to access. Arranging the food in the one large bin and one small slide-out tray has been a bit of a challenge, but manageable. I had ice and water through the door and the new box does not. I never used them heavily and don't miss them. The ice maker on the new one produces plenty of ice for my purposes. I am still disposing of ice as it continues to have a chemical odor & taste, but it is diminishing [the unit has only been in place three weeks]. A filter for the water used for ice might have been a beneficial addition. All things considered, this refrigerator meets my needs, fits well in the space without having to remodel and looks great, I'm happy with the purchase.

great design

me and my husband both have had back surgery. This fridg is great because you don"t have to bend down to put stuff in it. also it it easy to see expiration dates on food , that means less wasted food. We like it so much we are buying one for son and his new wife.

Excellent Choice

Looking for a refrigerator that would fit in a kitchen with overhead cabinets. GE was the only manufacturer that offered a decent size product that would fit. It replaced a 20 year old GE refrigerator and if past is any evidence, this product will also be a winner.

A perfect fit, an unusual size and bottom mount

At first I was very pleased and knew right away this was the fridge for us...and all on-line! The biggest complaint I have is the noise it makes...too loud! I just got rid of a noisy fridge after 21 years, then this! The manual speaks about a natural whirring and I wonder if this is how it should be!

Like the bottom freezer with the wide door swing.

We 've had our refrigerator installed one week ago and still having trouble getting the temperature to 37 degrees in the refrigerator part and zero in the freezer part as suggested. The fan is not being blocked. I have the refrigerator setting on 9 which is maxed out and have the freezer on 8 now and waiting to see if the temperatures drop.
I do like the style and the adjustable shelving.
I don't like the owners manual being on line.
The door doesn't suck itself shut and we have to be sure to push it shut or it stays ajar about 1 inch.

Ample room in the fridge and freezer compartments. We use the freezer section much less frequently than we do the refrigerator part. Less bending is good when we get a little older. The entire refrigerator has easy access for us.7
