Not bad but has some issues

Overall, we are reasonably satisfied with this product. The quality of the printing is good and it seems reasonably economical. However, we have had one major problem and one nagging problem.
The nagging problem is that using the printer wirelessly is tedious and unacceptably slow. I do not think that it is our wireless network as we routinely stream movies and do other high I/O activities without such delay. Therefore, I have to assume the capacity of the machines wireless capabilities is slow. It is so bad that we don not even use it wirelessly anymore, we always have a hard hookup when we want to print.
The "catastrophic" issue was a board failure that made the unit hit or miss at startup/activation. We contacted customer support and they did a nice job listening and putting us in touch with a local repair place (thankfully, we were still under warranty!). So, Brother did a great job handling this but the local repair place was DISMAL. They did seem to complete the repair but they were slow and they outright lied to me several times. As difficult as this is, Brother needs to do a better job picking local partners as this outage inevitable reflects poorly upon them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Clogged Ink Nozzles
on May 16, 2022

I really loved this printer. It was truly an all in one unit. The big issue I had was keeping the Ink Nozzles unclogged. In full disclosure I did allow the printer to set idle for about a month. I tried everything to fix it without success. Ink is a bit expensive. I wish I could get it repaired.

Solid multifunction printer, except wifi printing
on January 17, 2023

I have had this multifunction printer for about 10 years now, and generally I'm happy with it. The main issue is that the wifi has never worked properly and the connection would constantly get dropped. I spent hours trying to fix this but now I just use a USB connection at all times. It's also very annoying that I have to keep the colour ink topped up even to do a black and white print, although it seems this is the same for most printers of this type. I recently had an issue with the ink cartridge being clogged and customer service was surprisingly helpful and solved my issue.
