COULD USE BETTER DESIGN
on November 24, 2014

The details for this product make it seem like best thing since sliced bread. No so! Faults: can only do 2 side from feeder, address book not listed alphabetically, cannot immediately continuous feed faxes and store for different address (could do this on prev Brother unit), menus not easily navigated, etc. Just poor design for effective use. My paper doubles feeds causing waste because it partially prints on 2 sheets, same problem with unit this replaced. SD app only allows to print photos, not view and send to computer (as far as I can tell, used once) Apparently Brother has glitches it has failed to correct.

No Quality

I thought I was getting a better machine when I got this printer. Biggest mistake I made in my life, just the biggest disappointment and pure piece of junk. First it would not print my business cards, called support, he had no clue whatsoever, had to figure it out myself. Another problem, same thing the support group is like the printer, worthless. I paid good money for this piece of junk, I'm gonna throw it in the recycle, hope it don't mess that up. Jams constantly, to stressful!!!!

Enjoy the features...

I like the ease of use for some of the features like scanning and copying. This is my second unit, first one failed within 3 weeks, second one seems to be running fine. Ink is expensive, but what else is new with these things? Havent tried high gloss photos yet, hopefully it holds up to what my HPs have done in the past.

Good Printer, little noisy

The printer is very quick at printing and the output seems good. I have not tried photo paper yet. Time will tell how economical this machine is. The replacement ink cartridges are reasonably priced. It is a bit noisy, which was a surprise. I am used to the churning noised my laser printer makes, but was surprised how loud this machine was. It is probably related to how fast it prints. It is not a big deal to me, but if you set it up in a place where it needs to be quite, it may be an issue.

Printer works well on a wired connection. Have gone through one black (original) so far without any issues.
I am concerned about the apparent thinness of the material used in the paper trays. Paper trays paper travel end stops seem very likely to get broken easily.
Ink cartridges are easy to use. Very interesting design for cartridge storage sealing mechanism.
Cable connections are on interior of printer which is less straight forward than rear panel connections, but does appear to reduce connector strain.
Sincerely,
Richard
