Excellent texting entry phone model

My wife and I both have this phone. It is our first texting phone feature phone. We both were hold outs with the old clam shell type phone. This phone is a great first step up from the old clam shell style with the slide out keyboard and full touch screen. The touch screen is great as well and a good first step into that style of phone. Can customize the settings with the shortcuts for functions that you use often and want easy access on the front screen. The phone does have options for a data plan but we have not activated that feature yet.
Have had it for 1 day so far. I like the smartphone-like screen and interface. Since it allows up to 32GB memory storage with optional MicroSD card, I was hoping I could use it to record and store decent video clips. This is where the unit falls WAY short. The resolution is a minimal 176x144 pixels and cannot be improved. Frame rate is 15fps (typical), aspect-ratio is 1.222; bit rate is ~100Kbps (lousy); codec format is MPEG-4 (.3g2); audio is 14Kbps at 8,000 Hz.; but the WORST thing is the time limit of 30 seconds max. Considering the terrible video quality of the image, maybe 30 seconds is all that's needed. The camera does well for shooting stills, but for videos it's useless. I've seen FAR better results from other mobile & smartphones. The Brightside is decent in its price range as a mobile phone, but as a media recording device it's very primitive.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations, bad video specs
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had my Brightside for about six months. Recently, when I have been texting a person for about twenty or so messages, it will start to scramble the messages I receive from people. It did this for multiple numbers I was texting. Every message they would send would be scrambled. Very annoying especially since I use my phone for mainly texts and calls. It limits how long of a conversation I can have with a person via text message since I get to a point where I can't read their messages anymore. I don't think anyone should buy this phone because this one issue is pretty huge and I don't see a way of fixing it.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I found this phone extremely annoying for everyday use. Recently have had daily dropped calls and unable to get fixed. It is one and a half years old, and totally undependable. I now find myself faced with buying another phone out of pocket as it has not lasted long enough for me to upgrade thro my carrier. I thought Samsung had quality products, but this is NOT one of them
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

constantly pocket dials people, does not always send / receive text messages, the speaker is a freakin potato, very bad video quality, horrible audio, equally bad headphone jack, the keyboard slide has a stopper in it that easily breaks and causes the screen to sag. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, terrible audio, bad video, pocket dialing, too small, keyboard slide breaks easily
