Faulty engineering

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are using our 3rd Kitchenaid coffee maker this style (KCM1402). The first one lost its display after a few months, and both the second and third models have the identical problem of the brew basket popping open once the coffee is brewed! We have to use a piece of duct tape to hold it shut! And even that doesn't work most of the time. I'm sure I am not the only customer who is having this problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sad that it's broken

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this coffee maker! Makes the best cup of coffee ever! Everyone who has coffee at my house compliments on the great flavor! It's spoiled me so that I cannot enjoy a cup of coffee out because it doesn't taste as good.
However, my daughter dropped the water reservoir tank and it broke so now we can't fill the reservoir up to make a full pot. I've searched for a replacement only to find it's not available as a separate item.
I HATE that I have to buy a whole new coffee maker when I just need the reservoir tank.

Poor quality but great idea

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I went shopping for a coffee maker. We looked at several different models. We were sure this was the perfect coffee maker. At first it was. I loved that I could get the coffee ready at night and have it brew for me in the morning. I loved that it would stay warm for up to 4 hours. I also loved the amount of coffee it would brew. We didn't even have it a month and it started leaking water out the back. I took it back and exchanged it for the exact same coffee maker. I really did like the coffee maker. On the second coffee maker the light on the digital time was out on one side. I kept it anyway. Then a few weeks later, in the morning after it would brew, the coffee maker would shut off. For a few days i just turned it back on. I had enough of that and returned the coffee maker for a different brand. I really wish that the quality would have been a lot better on the KitchenAid product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're trying to decide among several coffeemakers, you won't go wrong with this one! I also own a KitchenAid toaster and love, love, love the fact that it's the only one I have ever owned that toasts evenly.

Rusty plate

We do like our kitchen aid coffee maker, especially the removable water tank! BUT, the hot plate has rusted. (Our cheap Mr Coffee never did). It’s gritty as you take the glass pot in and out. Also, the door for the coffee grounds pops open a lot.
Makes great coffee but not sure I will buy this again.
