Yes, it's a little more expensive, but it just makes sense to spend a little more in the beginning so that you don't have to spend twice as much later on. I enjoy my coffee and usually make more than one pot per day. It's easy to program and makes delicious coffee. I especially love that it comes in RED! My tiny kitchen is done in red and white and this coffee maker looks wonderful on my counter top. Everything in my red and white kitchen is KitchenAid: my pots, utensils and even my dishwasher! I will continue to purchase KitchenAid products because I believe in buying quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this coffee pot. The only problem is they don't seem to last very long. I had one before it lasted only 9 months. I just bought another one several months ago and already it is slowing down on brew time. That is what happened to the last one, then one day it just woulnd't turn on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So im on here looking for a coffee pot not for myself but for my parents because whenever im at their place it seems like it takes forever to make a cup of coffee. The first place i look is KitchenAid. Thats a no brainer for me. I own everything KitchenAid (Coffee pot, Toaster, Blenders, refrigerator) which are all like 6 years old. Everyone of the KitchenAid Products still work perfectly to this day. I understand that sometimes you buy a product and get it home something goes wrong with it but thats with everything in life. I have not purchased this coffee pot yet but im going to and i bet that my parents will still love it 6 years from now. Bottom line is you get what you pay for and if you want something to last then I recommend that you buy KitchenAid. You will never regret it. Btw I am not an employee nor do I have any affiliation with the company what so ever. Its just 5am in the morning in iowa and im bored reading reviews. lol

The improvements over the years have been valuable...more compact than initial 14cup, easy clean setting & additional programable settings. I've experienced various issues with previous models i.e. clock & burner stopped functioning but love the RED coffee maker + the great coffee taste makes it is always worth replacing this appliance. KitchenAid Warranty Department was Terrific this time too as the Coffee Maker was still under warranty & I learned I purchased an older version model from an Online Retailer. TY KitchenAid...Speedy Replacement! Love My KitchenAid!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used KitchenAid coffee makers for years, they are simple to use and make great coffee. This coffee maker is different in that it has a plastic water holder in the back, and I love it! You just fill it up and pop it back in - no more spilling water all over the counter trying to pour it into the coffee maker top from the carafe. I have red small appliances on my countertop (many of them kitchen aid) so this fits right in with it's sleek look!

The water resevoirs' handle is quite cheap feeling, it creaks and bends with a tank of water, giving it a feeling of it snapping or unhinging. . With that said , the features of the display are fairly simple once you familiarize yourself. The price was very reasonable for this brewing master..and it looks great next to all my matching Kitchen Aid appliances. The glass carafe feels flimsey to me because I'm used to the stainless steel carafe of my old JavaScript ( Kitchen Aid ) that lasted 12 yrs.
