Good coffee maker but...

I wanted the 14 cup size and this makes a good pot of coffee but there are a couple of issues. 1) The basket door pop's open easily when removing the pot to pour a cup of coffee but it isn't a big problem. 2) And this is a BIG problem. The carafe has a plastic pour spout. EVERY time you pour a cup of coffee 2 or 3 ounces spill off the pot. The pour spout is flat and wide so it doesn't funnel the coffee. Everyone has to hold their cup over the sink when getting coffee or else there's a mess on the counter. I bought the 14 cup maker so to have enough coffee but if you spill 2 or 3 ounces each time you use it, I'm better off with a 12 cup with a better pour spout.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lots of improvements from the prior model! :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this coffee maker after our prior KitchenAid was found empty, shut off, and HOT. It was also a 14-cup model, and had lasted for 4 years- no mean feat, at our place! So when we shopped for a new one, we chose the newer model. We're definitely pleased. The improvements: top door doesn't swing open randomly, thanks to the new pushbutton latch; filter basket swings out, for easier loading; water tank is easier to load / unload; in-tank filter is centrally located, and easier to replace or push down; and finally, the filter basket is deeper on this model, which prevents coffee-ground backflow- no more gritty cups of coffee, or backed-up coffee flowing over onto the burner and counter, during the brew cycle. My one "thing" about this is how you set the automatic brewing for morning- you do have to go through the menu, rather than just double-tap your brew button. However, that's not even close to a deal-breaker for my husband or myself, and the three coffee drinkers in our household all agree that this machine brews a great-tasting cuppa Joe. :) We've been using it for a couple of weeks now would recommend this machine for any and all coffee drinkers out there. It has well-thought-out features, and makes tasty coffee!

They improved it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Kitchenaid coffeemaker, similar model. I see you have solved several things that were drawbacks on the old version. Our old kitchen aid coffemaker still worked after about 12 yrs, but the Teflon coating was worn on the warming plate, and the latch to close the filter compartment would not close on the first try. Now there is a new material for the warming plate that does not appear to be coated, there is a push-button latch for the filter area, and the water reservoir is removable for filling. it’s perfect, especially since it is red!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coffee maker is great. The basket holds enough coffee to make a strong brew, which we love. We use it on the bold setting. This model is improved version of an earlier coffee maker. The warming tray does not discolor. The water filter is now in the middle of the water container, which makes it easier to handle. The water container is still removable for filling- a great feature. The screen is now brighter and easier to read and use. All in all, it brews a great cup of coffee.

Digital Display Fades

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last week and the digital display was fading in and out so sometimes you could see the time, etc., and other times you couldn't do the store I purchased this from immediately sent me a new one and this one does the exact same thing, this is the third pot of this model that has been bad, I like the features of the coffee pot and the 14 cup carafe but the mechanical functioning of this one is not good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
