Literally Still Working 12 Years Later

Great features, excellent sound, and a nice picture which can easily be modified. Quality that lasts for years.

Great features combined with ease of use make this unit stand out. Excellent two-speaker sound combines with a nice picture which can be modified to your personal taste. Everything you need in high speed HD inputs-outputs. A dependable quality which lasts for years and years without issues. I strongly recommend this unit.

Ran good for years, BUT......

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this used from a friend around 2007 or 2008 when he went to a bigger tv. Color, audio, etc. all good until tonight....January 2018. Something "blew" and its dead. My guess is a capacitor blew. Came to this site to see about "troubleshooting" .
Like everybody's tv, I guess, this puppy ran for hours and hours every day.
Be aware, this thing ALWAYS ran hot....enough to warm up the room it was in...even with our high ceilings.
Heavy too. I imagine today's tv's are lighter and won't run as hot.
Pros: good audio from the tv speakers w/0 having to add, a soundbar or surround sound unit.
Cons: heat....wonder how much electricity this baby was, consuming.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Best TV With The Latest Features Ever When I originally purchased it. And has Not given me any isses Ever and Still Works Great Today as it did when I purchased it NOTE Only Issues noticed was the delay when TV is automatically Changing Resolutions Which I am sure could be corrected with a Current Firmware Fix / Update. If available

Only problem is if I leave it on for more than 3 days the sound goes out, all I have to do is turn it off and wait like 10 seconds before turning it back on. Gold

I loved my first Philips TV. the only thing I hate is that they have to display the Philips logo when you turn it ion. I never had an issue with it and now 6 years later it's still working but the remote 'eye' pooped out and it doesn't work anymore. I can turn it on/off, switch channels, etc via the side panel. The only reason why I'm giving a 3 star ease of use is because the side panel controls doesn't have a source button and now I cannot switch the source if I want to switch to my dvd, playstation players etc. Still, for 6 years of use it's a great product.
