I did a lot of research before buying this refrigerator, I have had it now for about 7 months I heard about problems with the ice maker and I was concerned, but I adjusted the size and when I have enough just turn it off until you need more. The first one didn't make it in the house due to a cut wire upon uncrating it . But I have had no problems with any portion of it .the shelves pull out so it's easy to clean, and put away groceries or get something from the back and putting meat and stuff in the freezer is easy too and it holds alot. my only problem was I didnt realize how much space is needed to completely open the french doors and in the refrigerators original space it wouldn't open all the way so I had
Pros: Features/Settings, Performance
Cons: Difficult to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

DON'T Buy these bottom ice maker units!

The ice spillage problem is causing me to junk my unit. I'm fed up with ice spilling every time I retrieve some. Often, it spills enough to keep the drawer from closing, so you have to get a stick and pry out the accumulated ice onto the floor. Twice I found the drawer ajar due to the ice buildup and my freezer contents covered in frost. Don't buy this unit unless you have another ice maker to use or you manually start and stop the ice maker as recommended in the LG knowledge base "fix".
Cons: Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Would not purchase again.

Don't think I would purchase this fridge again. Frost builds up on tray containing ice cubes, I guess because of having to pull it out to get ice. Sliding drawer for deli items is a pain because you have to open both doors to access. Also I would rather have a larger veggie drawer than the small drawer in the middle.
Pros: Performance
Cons: Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love My French 3-Door Frig
on January 3, 2010

I bought my frig in Oct 09 and just love it. I had to get used to digging thru the freezer bin to find things "buried" but I adapted to it. I loved having the french doors with the wide shelves for holiday cooking and entertaining! Would never go back to side by side. It's so great to store wide trays. This is my first LG product.
The only problem that I have is the right side door needs an extra push to close, will call to get adjusted soon.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design

Doesn't Cool After 8 Months
on September 21, 2010
Posted by: Fridge is Still Dead
Fridge stopped cooling after 8 months of use. Interior fan made grinding noises and stopped working. Now compressor/coil refrigeration system is failing and doesn't cool sufficently. The repair person tells us the BEST CASE is 3 visits to get it repaired plus waiting over a week for parts from LG. We used to love the fridge when it was working. Nice fit and finish, but the fridge is too warm inside to store food.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

poor quailty

The ice maker spits ice on the freezer floor and the freezer door will not close properly. We are constantly having to pull out the basket and throw ice cubes away. If we don't catch it our freezer ices over and sometimes the food thaws. The clasp that helps keep the top door closed just broke. I have not called a repair person as I do not want to spend any more money on this lemon.

Freezer door does not close properly
on July 16, 2009

Up date: My wife reminded me about one problem. Everything is ok , but the freezer door does not seal properly when closed. You can feel cold air getting out when you pass your hand by it. We are not on a hill or anything like that , it is perfectly level.

Best Refrigerator/Freezer I've ever had!
on October 28, 2009

I had a 2 yr. old side by side that would not hold large dishes and the freezer was ridiculous, as the the ice arm would never shut off the ice. This LG Frig is spectacular! I can put my large dishes in it. There is more room than ever and it's the size [25 c.f.] as my old one. The freezer is so large that we can actually get rid of our small chest freezer in the garage, as we won't need it anymore. Love ALL the features of LG. The adjustable shelves all around. The deli drawer is fabulous, as I don't have to have stuff piled on top of each other anymore and can see exactly what is in there. Use to lose site of my bacon all the time before. I love the doors. You can open one or both or close one or both at the same time. Love the chime if I'm cooking and run to the frig to get something and don't get the door closed all the way because I hurried away from it. My 2 yr. old frig was noisy all the time and we cannot hear this LG running. We do, JUST barely hear the ice turn out of the tray and the water refill, but the house has to be TOTALLY silent to hear that. This is the best product I've had in my 66 years and I HIGHLY recommend it!
