Love it. Never had mold...here's the fix.

I've had this washer for 3+ years and I absolutely love it. It spins the clothes super dry. I sometimes have to check to make sure they've been washed. I also love the refresh feature. I've left clothes in there for a day and had no problems.
A washer repairman told me that mold comes from using liquid detergent, which has an oil base to it to keep it fluid. It's also what causes the drum to spell, since it collects on the back side. When we bought this washer, we have since only used powder detergent (no liquids, no pods). We've never had any mold show up in the dispenser, and the drum never ever smells.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Mold! Do not buy!

There appears to be a design flaw in this washer wish causes an extreme amount of mold to accumulate in the detergent dispenser drawer. We leave the drawer open after each wash to let it dry out, but this does not seem to help. We have never had this problem with any other front load washer. As a result, I would not recommend that you purchase this washer.

I purchased this this when we built but ours house and have had it rebuilt - new dispenser and new gasket within a year. I actually remove the entire dispenser area since, wipe dry inside the dispenser and gasket and leave everything to air out after each load and still a huge amount of mold both in gasket and dispenser area.

Mold everywhere - in dispenser drawer, inside rubber on the inside of machine. Appears I'm not the only one experiencing this issue!

Wash & Go Dispesner Grows Mold
on September 3, 2017

I was very excited about my washing machine when I first bought it 3 months ago. Unfortunately, over the past month I have notice a lot of black mold growth that I cannot get to go away no matter how many times I clean this. This cannot be good for my health or my clothes.

Not the same Whirpool

My wife and I bought the Whirlpool Duet combo seven (7) years ago when we moved to Georgia. Our previous Whirlpool set was over 20 years old and we never made any repairs to them. On the Whirlpool Duet washer after only seven (7) years we replaced the drain pump after it overheated and failed. Other issues are the plastic panel for wash selection is currently coming off and the door gasket needs to be replaced. The pump repair cost over $295 and we were told the front panel and door gasket was another $350. For the combined repair cost, we can buy a new washer. I am extremely displeased with the poor quality of the Whirlpool Duet washer. My opinion is that Whirlpool knows they are selling lower quality products and that is why they only warranty them for one year.

MOLD!!

We have constant mold in the dispenser despite taking the dispenser out between washes to allow to dry out. This can't be right or healthy & I'm assuming not good for our machine. I think this machine should be recalled. Sooo disappointing to spend money on a product & have this kind of thing happen. It works well but obviously, this mold thing is a major problem & concern.

Black mold! And error code E03 F01

We bought this washer in 2015 and keep having issues with error codes. After reading other reviews about black mold we checked ours and it’s covered in black mold!! This is a major health hazard and not acceptable. We had a Maytag front loader washer before with no issues. This washer is horrible. Just now we couldn’t get the door to unlock so my husband pulled the machine out, took the back cover off and the door became unlocked. Go figure.
