Well designed front loader

Previously owned a GE (never again!) The Whirlpool is well designed regarding eliminating the water near the gasket of the door. After I run the drain and spin, there is no water in that area; don't need to dry it out. Still leave the door open...very satisfied with the way it washes the clothes as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this washer a couple of weeks ago to replace the same model I had for over 10 yrs. Love the speed and efficiency. Great product. Dependable design! This unit practically dries the clothes it spins so fast making the dry time much less and saves money!

I love this new washer. Place your soap & softner, choose your laundry kind and go! Love the tumble fresh cycle. The thing g I love the most so far is how much $$ I have saved, not just in detergent & softener, but electricity and water. Also, VERY quiet. I'm glad I changed to a front loader :^)

This washer was installed on 5/2/15. We are a family of four plus a dog. I do one to two loads of laundry a day. When our old Frigidaire set broke, I spent lots of hours reviewing many brands and models for replacement. I was completely discouraged as every brand and model had some serious negatives as well as positives. My husband and I both decided on Whirlpool as it appeared to be the better of the options. So far, we have been thrilled! Of the issues noted before purchase - sounds like metal rolling around in the tub and uber sensitive controls - we found that we do have those issues but they are small and/or easy to get around. The metal rolling sound is only heard when you manually move the interior drum around or when the washer first starts. It appears to be the mechanism for load balancing. It is about 2 seconds in duration total. You do not hear anything when the machine is actually running a load. The controls are extremely sensitive, i.e., if you brush against them (like I do all the time to reach the cabinets above), they ding and/or turn on/off. However, these are the ONLY complaints I have about this washer. I actually REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoy doing laundry with these machines! (I have the matching dryer and it is just as great.) The first thing my husband and I said was "Wow! They are so quiet." With our old set (Frigidaire), we had to have plastic footers due to vibration. The service man laughed when we asked if they would be needed for the Whirlpool and he was right. I threw them away. He also told us that they don't get Whirlpool returns and they have had really great luck with the quality. Our old Frigidaire had major drainage issues, i.e., there was always standing water in the seal. (It was a first generation HE model.) The Whirlpool is clean as a whistle after each wash. The features have been great, the clothes are really clean, the machines look beautiful in the laundry room.

Purchased several months ago and have been amazed at how little water it uses and how fast it spins. Clothes come out just damp so drying time is much less. Only item we have noticed is control panel is sensitive. Great unit!
