Fatal flaws

Many have raved over the TV, which I attribute to newness. I'm not sure Samsung is selling this TV any more, so this is probably too late to make a difference to anyone, but here goes:
DLNA - the "media player" support was unusable when I purchased this TV last year, requiring several software updates from Samsung before it would work at all. The "PC Share Manager" program has been revised several times, never with any release notes that would indicate what was fixed. To date, the DLNA functionality is minimal at best. Many formats are not supported. DivX and h.264 encoded videos will play on the TV if I encoded them right, but there is no fast forward/reverse or even a "jump to time' function. You can only pause and continue. Why this 2008 TV can't do as much as my 2005-era media player box is perplexing. Thumbnails in the list of media player videos don't seem to work for h.264 encoded files, only DivX. I trusted Samsung to get this right, and they let me down.
Optical digital audio output from the TV will not be muted by the "mute" function on the remote, nor can the TV volume control change the volume if you're connected this way. I don't see why it should have to be this way, but it is.
The screen suffers from the infamous "Halo" effect, where some light from the edges of the LCD panel is conducted through the plastic bezel and directed at the viewer, resulting in a glowing outer edge of the screen. It's distracting in the dark, not really visible in daylight.
The spinning wheel on the remote is more of a nuisance than anything else. As you can rotate the wheel OR press down on it (up/down or left/right) I find myself frequently doing both inadvertently and 'missing' my target. The remote and menu system feel a little sluggish.
Just in case you think I hate everything, I'll concede that the picture itself is very good. The 120 Hz motion plus and processing can make many scenes look real (with higher perceived frame rates that look more like TV video than film). Artifacts are not apparent. I have noticed some 'flashlighting' in blank (dark) screens, probably unavoidable aspects of the technology. Standard DVD's played from my BDP-1500 look great, not sure if the TV or the Blu-Ray playing is doing the upscaling here.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this TV, For the longest time I stayed away from LCD's simply because plasma's usually had a better, more realistic image but that has changed with the samsung "Ultra Clear Panel". Every time I turn this TV on I am amazed. The pre-loaded content feature is awesome, You can actually make the TV a focal point during gatherings with friends and family with the gallery feature. This TV also has picture in picture! I have this paired up with a samsung BD-P2550 and I am very pleased with both products. There is not comparison to this TV as far as I am concerned.

I'm happy with the picture quality from a variety of sources - integrated ATSC tuner, DVD, DirecTV HD. I especially like the ability to remember a format for each input since I have several other devices attached to component and composite inputs.

I've had this TV for 6 days now & so far the best TV I ever owned. The picture, color, & features are just perfect. I had this side by side with a Sony Bravia, but I chose the Samsung over the Sony because of the picture quality.

This unit replaced my 4671f, samsung was great to deal with and attempted to fix TBE and stutter but could not. Got the 46750 as a replacement and couldn't be happier. Great picture, colors are terrific and no problems. I love watching sports on this set, it's like I'm in the stands. I'm very pleased with this set, I hope it continues to perform well.

I have been looking for a 46 inch LCD for about a month and after alot of research on different brands of LCD's I chose Samsung . After getting it home and set up I was amazed at the picture quality of the 750. The picture remains crystal clear even on fast moving scenes. I realized I made a very good choice, this is a super TV. I also purchased a Samsung Blue-Ray DVD 1500 player and love it to.In the future I plan on buying a Samsung Home theater system to go with it.Samsung, keep building these great products I love them.

Full HD picture, beautiful color, deep black, ameliorative sound, easy connect to computer with VGA and 1920X1080, home TV net with your PC and internet, it is AV center and info window, so I like the 750. But some things need improve : sound system Frequence Response is uneven, 200-300Hz very poor; firmware ver 1009.1 provide error stock infomation, ver 2002.0 close up 750 system some iimportant function, ver 1012.2 is preferable, but some ZIP code mapped placename no right, for example 06360 is mapped "Occum" , but 06360 is "Norwich" . I find that the 750 can identify chinese file name(MP3, JPEG and MOV......), and view partial chinese word on TV. So, I hope it can perfectly view these by update firmware, because the TV is used in international society.
