Terrible Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Design of ice maker in the freezer takes up a lot of space, fan assembly is loud, basket design - terrible! The fridge is no better. There are obstructions on most of the shelves and for the exterior size of the appliance, there is very little space inside. Very disappointed overall. We thought GE Profile were the best, but we were wrong!

Nice refrigerator but the ice maker has issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice refrigerator but the ice maker has issues. We haven't had this unit very long and the ice maker has quit on us 2 or 3 times. The issue seems to be from the water supply freezing up. The first time I thought it was because it was new and maybe didn't get purged long enough. I have checked for air leaking in around the back where the supply tubing goes in and it is sealed really well. I believe the water supply valve is not working correctly allowing the water to seep into the ice maker and freeze. I had to use a hair dryer to defrost it both times and that is sort of a let down on a unit this nice. Other than that it is a nice unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

water dispenser poorly designed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The water line keeps freezing up and has cost a fortune in service calls to defrost it so that both water and ice can be dispensed.

Freezer Baskets

I bought a new house which came with this fridge and my only complaint is the freezer baskets keep falling off the shelf supports.

Do Not Buy this model

There were several disappointments with this model. 1st, incadesent light bulbs, for this price point I thought I was getting LED. 2nd, the ICE maker consumed alot of real estate in the freezer, then to top that, it did not produce ice, even in "Quick Ice" mode. 3rd, frozen food in the fridge, umm not a feature I was looking for. Overall, for this price point, I expected MUCH MUCH more from GE. The sales person who sold it to me (sight unseen as they did not have one on the showroom floor) swore this was a beautiful refridge....all in all, I would not go that far. Thankfully, the place of purchase is picking it up tomorrow, and I have purchased a competitors model that I could touch and feel on a show room floor, for the same price with updated features like, LEDs throughout, ice maker on the door to free up freezer space, and a better overall warranty, sorry GE, I gave it try, I will not do that again, I sugguest others do the same, SHOP SHOP SHOP, touch and feel before you lay down your credit card!

Wouldn't buy it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not have a choice; this refrigerator was included with the condo. I have never liked side-by-sides, so that was the first strike against it. However, this particular model has even less usable freezer space than most. The in-door water and ice mechanisms consume way too much space and the depth of both the door shelves and the actual freezer shelves is laughable. The ice maker's performance is spotty at best. The refrigerator side is ok, but just not roomy enough.
