All I wanted and . . . .

. . . at tad less, BUT this is an amazing piece of equipment. I was hoping to get the 50" LED version, the larger ones that are offered are a tad too big right now - needed the 50"er for where it was going, but it disappeared as this model has in the listings. Which kinda scares me about update support. It's not marked as a clearance piece, but . . . So I grabbed the "lamp" version and just love the picture. Sometimes even to tears. The picture is amazing showing everything including the flaws, those poor actors & newscasters, which is kinda sad and funny at the same time. I got DISH TurboHD (HDMI hook-up) just for this set and it puts the provider to task. If the program is not HD, you'll know it but not all that much since SD programming is much better, very good, than you get with an LCD. Local HD stations look better direct than through the box, and I love the on board signal meter. DVD and Digital playback through HDMI is amazing. Have yet to try Blu-ray, but will and it will be a Samsung player, although all my other gear is Pioneer. But the sound, the reason for four stars in places, is horrible. I am thoroughly surprised and disappointed. In the stores you look at the picture, but do not really think to or have the opportunity to hear them. I just took it for granted that it would follow with the great picture. The line and optical outputs are great hooked up to an AV system (mine 7.1). But the standalone audio, I just don't get it. They claim "superior" sound but that's not what mine sounds like. The 19" beater that I use as a back up sounded much better.
Features, there are a lot, and enough to set it up anyway you need to, want to or mess it up real good. But there are resets all over in case you go too far and can't get back on your own.
Other than the on board sound this is an amazing set. I just hope it gets the firmware updates and support that all the others do or will. Then it will be perfect until I have to change the first bulb. But I got a 4 year warranty. I really wanted the LED version, but I am really happy with this one and have yet to read a review or report about it that makes me feel this was a mistake. Quite the contrary although I have read in a couple of places that the lamp sets have a richer picture. Isn't that what it's all about? Well the 11 year LEDS aren't too shabby. But this will do just fine, bulb changing and all.
I am so glad I have my new toy, 3 months, oh and hooked up to my computer as a fourth monitor, it is beyond amazing. And with my 7.1 Surround Sound System (3700 watts) I am really moved, I mean literally things now move across the large screen as they do through the room. It's worth the clean up afterwards.
If you can still find one and want the smaller DLP, that does not have the picture problems that the LCD's and Plasma's do and has many many set up features that accommodate most everything . . . GET THIS TV!!!
So Samsung don't disappoint me, keep me in the loop on firmware and feature upgrades! Thanks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

WOW I never expected so much from a rear projection. The controls and functions are super easy to pick up. The quality of the vidoe and sound are just out of this world. The sound is good too. The only thing that I dont like is if using a universal remote you have to keep pushing the botton for every point of volume control which doesnt both me to much as I am hooked up to 7.1 surround sound.
I would recommend this to a friend!
