Best DLP!

DLP is not an old, outdated technology! Samsung's DLP televisions are bringing new life and setting the bar with DLP. Who ever thought that you could pay around $1000 for a 56 inch television that, in my opinion, looks as good if not better than any other LCD of Plasma. Do yourself a favor and get this amazing television!

Quality Samsung HDTV in flooded market

Place bought: Circuit City
Time: mid-October 2008
Price: $1200
This TV provides typical features (and inputs) expected from standard HDTV. PC input, S-video, (3) HDMI which are 1.3a compatible; so that is a plus! But standard features you should demand from a HDTV these days.
Performance is also what you should expect from a HDTV. Blu-ray movies are flawless. Cable TV is ok. HD channels are satisfactory and non-HD are just painful to watch. Video games (via. HDMI) are entrancing. Switching picture modes is...well that doesn't belong in performance.
The design is more attractive than most other HDTV because of their thick border. Logo is typical Samsung style. The speaker is integrated nicely and powerful enough for people that don't require surround sound. Samsung and Sony do have the best designs on the market!
Finding a matching glass stand wasn't hard and cost about $350. Ah! Switching between picture modes is annoying yet quite simple with one menu from the remote. Definitely needs viewing room...56' is the biggest TV I have ever bought and owned. The projection light when on in the back isn't distract much during view. Carried from parking lot to 3rd story apartment with 2 guys.
In closing, this TV is well worth it's price. A solid buy for anyone requiring HD without trying to break their wallet. TV, stand, Sony BDP-S550 plus movies for under $2500. Surrounding light does drown picture! And have heard complaints about peoples screens bowing...which isn't Samsung, it is DLP. Can view well from diagonal sides. Easy keep clean from dust and fingerprints. Every review (BY OWNER) I have ever read about this product has rated almost perfect. I am very happy with this product!

Best DLP picture

Many DLP HD TV's pictures fade out when changing your viewing angle. The Samsung's image fade is much less noticeable when moving around the room compared to other DLP manufacturers. Overall image quality is the best of any DLP I have seen. If you want a quality image from a large screen HD TV, any of Samsungs DLP's fit the bill.

Great TV

The first time I saw a Samsung DLP, I was hooked. We went out and purchased a 56" for our home and the picture was incredible. While watching football, the players seem so lifelike and the crispness is incredible. The only thing that bothers me is the TV's own sound. It's not horrible, also not great, but having a separate audio setup is ideal anyways.
