Why Spend Extra for 1080P?

Don't understand all the 1080p hype. This 720p plasma looks great!!! I love Plasma tv's they look so much better than LCD's. Bought this last summer and I still love it. Great product for the price.

Overall this is a great product. The picture quality is outstanding. Everyone who stops over is impressed by the picture. I would recommend samsung to everyone.

Purchased the TV 6 months ago after much research into plasma vs. lcd, 1080p vs 720p etc. Have been very pleased with the performance so far.
Display is spectacular, just hooked it to a new Samsung Blue-Ray player and you would be hard pressed to tell it's not 1080p. Colors and quality of the images are amazing. My wife commented when we first put in a favorite movie that she never realized there was so much color. Only black mark on an excellent report is that I've had a partial burn-out of one pixel. Dissapointing but not unexpected.
Sound is a little weak. the TV speakers project rearward and with the configuration of the room much of the sound power is lost floating up the stairwell instead of getting to the viewer. Not a fatal flaw as we tend to listen using wireless headphones most of the time anyway. (12 month baby in the house). But if your looking to match the excellent picture with good sound plan on investing in a Home Theater system.

My Husband & I bought ours around February and have loved it! I've seen people say the only bad thing about it are the speakers but I knew going in I wanted to set up my own home theater system anyway and it is fantastic! The pictures is so clear on it. We have finally got with the times and bought a Samsung Blu-Ray player for Christmas so I can't wait to see how good it looks!

Bad TV, Great Company

I know this may be an oxymoron, but I disaree. We have had this TV for about 6 months, and the first time we tried to watch a movie with the family, it blew the speakers. We have two small children so we didn't turn it up that high. Samsung was great in making sure it was fixed (although the contracted local servicer had horrible customer service). The next time we tried watching a movie we turned it up to 30 (out of 100 I believe) to make sure we wouldn't blow it out again. Guess what - the speakers blew again. This time the customer service on the local servicer was so atrocious Samsung decided to refund our money. Because of the great customer service of Samsung (constantly making sure we had a good experience) I am now a loyal Samsung customer. I am definitely going to take our refund and purchase the 550 series and hope for better luck with the speakers. I doubt any other company would have gone the extra mile like Samsung.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I manage an electronics department and this is the set that I bought for myself. With stunning contrast and clarity the 50A450 is a great choice for those who want performance but are on a budget. We have sold dozens of this model to our customers and not one has been returned for any reason.
The only weak area is in the sound category. While the down firing speakers deliver better sound then some others in this category, I strongly recommend adding an external sound system.
Do your self a favor and take a close look at this flat panel before you buy. You will be glad that you did!

we really like the picture , and design is good , we have no problems with it. Very easy to hook the wires up. Having the swivel base makes it nice to adjust the tv to your room .
