Sound Issues

This TV has very good picture quality, however the sound on HD channels through the TV tuner has intermittent distortion problems. I have had the TV repaired 3 times and still have the problem. I would not recommend this TV. Googling this issue brings up many users with the same problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Expensive Wall Art

Bought Feb of '09. Great picture and performance until the video stopped suddenly week before last...still have sound. Samsung providing in home service under warranty however the service company had to order the panel and I'm still waiting for them to do the repair...in the meantime I've got a piece of Samsung wall art with sound. Sure hope the new 52" in the living room does better after 11 months of use!!!

It's no wonder Samsung is no longer making this TV. It's a piece of junk! After owning it for about a year (just long enough for the warranty to expire), it started phantomly turning on and off by itself. I searched online and found out at the cnet forums that this is a very common problem with Samsung TVs around this model. Sometimes it takes 1/2 hour to even turn on at all. As I type this, it will not turn on. There was a firmware upgrade for this model, but after downloading it I realized that it was more outdated than the firmware my tv came with, so that was of no help to me.
Prior to this TV, I was watching the same TV as I was in 1984. It was an off-brand model I had never heard of, and it never gave me a day of trouble. Luckily I didn't throw it away, because I guess I have to junk this Samsung LN32A450 and go back to my tv from 1984.
I gave the design 3 stars because although it's attractive, the black frame around the picture is so glossy, it is distracting from the picture.
If you can find this TV for $100 or under, that is the only way I would recommend buying it.

Bought tv and in less the 18 months have had to repair 2 times. Thought was a good tv til just would not turn on for the second repair. Would not recommend.

This is a very good 1080p TV, it has excellent resolution with a very fast refresh rate so it has minimal image blur. Which was a problem on my old LCD TV. The only downside is that all the inputs are clustered together and make organizing the wiring near impossible other than that it is a great LCD TV.

First LCD TV purchase. Mine is an LN32A450 (don't know what the C1D is). Plenty of inputs. Good features to tailor setttings to your needs. Settings are specific to input, giving flexibility with different input devices.
Good picture on HD / DVD sources. Decent picture on Analog sources (I find those sources clearer by using auto aspect setting - shows 4:3 sources as 4:3 instead of stretch). HD tuner decodes 3 HD channels from cable even though my service isn't HD. Sound is adequate with bass/treble settings. Appearance is aesthetically pleasing.
Have been very satisfied with purchase. Will consider Samsung LCD TV's as first choice for next TV purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

we have only had it for about a week now but i have to say the picture quality is a 100 times better than our 4 year old crt tv. the set up was easy the sound is good & since it is hanging on the wall the top of my dresser is clear now

Good Price and Great Features

I purchased this back when it was $300 more, and still think it was worth the money. I had a problem with the unit humming when I first received it, and customer support sent out a repairman within the week, and I live in the middle of nowhere. Works great for video games, and has a great contrast ration.
Based on how much I like this T.V., I will be purchasing a newer, larger t.v. for the living room, and moving this unit to the bedroom.
