Let Microsoft continue to upgrade and create new apps because this is an WIP OS standalone.....I ordered a black matte finish and only hoped for a silver matte color..maybe future hardware will reflect this ........

Ringtones and alert sounds

I can't use any type of ringtone as an alert sound. I downloaded ringtones and saved them on my phone. Some of them are for text messaging and I can't figure out how to use them for that. The phone only lets you use the standard factory given alert sounds for text messaging or something else. I think sounds should be universally allowed. Other than than that I love the phone. Please note: I have never had a smartphone before. I am only having an easy time with using the phone because I have a windows 8 laptop that I taught myself how to use.

My first Nokia Lumia 920

Nokia has done a excellent job with this device. Coming from a Nokia Lumia 822. What I like about this phone is it has wireless charging, you can customize the live tiles to three sizes, you can go to applications then select background task and block the apps that your not currently using to save battery some people are new to windows phone and yes it can be complicated there are tips and tricks to learn if you have the patience to observe and take notes. Windows phone isn't for everyone because people have different preferences on a phone that they want that has all the features etc, this phone fits for me I am a video gamer it has Xbox games on this phone I can customize my avatar listen to Xbox music and use windows phone central as my background. I will recommend this phone to people who want a phone like this.

If Only People Would Give This Phone A Chance

I switched from apple to Windows completely skipping android, and I must say I absolutely love this phone. Very easy and simple to use. I love how everything connects you to you social network(s). The call quality is excellent. As far as apps go nokia/microsoft are constantly improving and adding more and more apps to the list everyday. People please give this phone a try I guarantee you wont want another iphone.

So much functionality was built-in to future proof this phone. The shaped glass, glance, bt 4.0, built-in charging. This is an absolute tank from the future!

Windows Phone 8.1 Makes the Lumia 920 Sing

The Lumia 920 has been an absolute workhorse of a phone & is still as fresh, modern & fast as the day I bought it. It is running WP8.1 Developer Preview/Cyan so it has all the latest bells & whistles. In terms of physical design, hardware performance, appearance & function, it is absolutely perfect. In comparison to my Samsung Galaxy/Android device, WP8.1 is just so much nicer to use with its consistent, fast & fluid user interface. I have many of the same apps installed on both devices & there is just no comparison between the platforms app-for-app with WP8.1 coming out much more satisfying & refined. IOS is also smooth & refined but WP8.1 just makes IOS seem so dated plus WP8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro are so well integrated and those synergies are a compelling reason to use WP8.1. Many kudos to Microsoft for continuing to develop these two excellent platforms in the face of very entrenched markets. I have a feeling that Wp10 & W10 will be watershed platforms for Microsoft.

Excellent phone, the 8.1 software update made this phone best in class

What I don't like: -
- sensors started failing after 1.5 years. Gyroscope is the only functioning sensor.
- lack of Google apps. Also newer applications take time to arrive on the phone
- phone is too thick
