Almost Great

Beautiful printer. Prints quietly and fast. Great print quality.
But Samsung blew it with the ML-1630 in two ways:
* an annoying little cooling fan comes on and buzzes and moans for about 10 minutes if you print more than a few pages. It's unbelievable and annoying to me that Samsung didn't spend a few more $ on a quiet cooling fan.
* it produces ozone. All laser printers do this, but the good ones have a filter so that it doesn't escape into the room. I wanted o have this printer sit right next to me on my desk. But not if I'm breathing ozone from it every time I print something.
I liked this printer so much (other than my two items above) that I'm going to be really sorry to have to return it. If Samsung had done this right, I would've been delighted to have this beautiful printer in my office.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What a beautiful compact printer! This was the main selling point for me but just the beginning of a great product. Setup was quick and easy. The prints are sharp and crisp. The warm up time is very minimal for a laser printer. Hitting the print button to the first page out is only seconds. I love the fact that my monitor can rest on top of the printer and create an easy to access de-cluttered desktop. I know it's just a printer but this purchase has really "brightened" up my home office.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer was a replacement for a very old Samsung laser printer that was heavy used. It still works, I just gave it to my son to use for school work. I should have bought this printer a long time ago. It spits out the first page fast, is extremely quiet, great print quality, is more stylish than the old one, and takes up less space! No second thoughts here!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I recently purchased this printer because of the small, compact size, it makes it easy to transport when you have a laptop computer. It was very easy installation, almost too smoothly that I couldn't believe I had done it!! One suggestion, the quick start hard copy included in the box for Windows Vista was not in English. (it was for the MacIntosh) But, pictures were easy to follow. Printer is quiet and fast for what I expected.
