Makes perfect ice

Great Ice Machine

Our experience started off a little rough but ended well. We did a remodel at our summer home late fall and the ice machine was back ordered. When it did finally arrive, we had it installed but never fired it up because by that time we were closing for the season. Fast forward to the spring. Powered it up, water supply attached and she was making ice nicely. Then the door alarm started going off! We opened and shut the door, checked the level of the unit, checked the "gap", powered on and off to reset but all to no avail. Put in a service call and they sent someone promptly. The technician could find nothing wrong. But while we were there, the alarm would continue to sound. My husband was talking to the store owner who we purchased from and he mentioned about the magnetic strip on the lower panel of the door. My husband took a look at it and sure enough, it was not lined up properly. He re-seated the tape strip and voila! No more alarm.
So far we are very happy with our machine. It is early in the season but it seems like it will make plenty of ice for coolers and drinks.

Great ice

Decent but could be better

This ice maker looks great! I got it because it matched the other Electrolux appliances. What I didn't like is that I was never told that you needed to buy and hook-up a drain pump...separate from the unit. I found out the hard way with a large puddle that leaked out of the drain in the back. With an appliance this expensive you would think it's built in...especially since it's a residential model. Other concerns are that it is very noisy and that the ice is not very "frozen". The ice melts extremely fast when you put it into a drink. After reviewing the manual (which is not very informative), I don't know if there is a way to adjust the temperature setting to make the unit colder to help the ice freeze more. Overall good looking unit, but I definitely think it lacks on design and features.

We love the ice from this icemaker. The cleaning instructions were difficult to follow and even a certified service person had to call Electrolux support for corrrect instructions. It seems the instruction booklet is not clearly written.

Noisy but good ice

My husband really wanted square ice cubes and this was the only residential model I could find that produced them. The ice is great and it is a nice looking unit, but the process of making the ice is very noisy. If you have a very open plan to your home, you will definitely hear the running water and ice drop. I have to turn the radio up a level to hear it when ice is being made.

Not what we expected

This unit is loud and seems to use a lot of water and electricity. The ice is soft and melts quickly in a drink. It was difficult to install and the user manual is not very clear. the biggest plus .... it goes well wtih our 5 other Electrolux appliances.
