Dissapointed purchase

OVEN LIGHT BULBS go out often and are difficult to change(poor design)
OVEN BAKE: takes
too long to reach desired temperature. BROILING ELEMENT works fine. STAINLESS STEEL is too soft, consequently scratches EASILY.
CLEANING the stove-top not easy. Even just boiling water requires a WIPE-DOWN.. One BURNER KNOB is broken because of POOR DESIGN !!!
(MOST PRICEY RANGE I HAVE EVER PURCHASED WITH BIG REGRETS). My decision to purchase
was based on Brand Name and asthetic looks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this range but......

I wish there was more heat from the burners. I tend to use only the largest one (right front) because it has the most heat. Very difficult to bring something to a boil in a hurry with any of the others, however, that makes them perfect for simmering and keeping things warm.
I love he smaller oven on the bottom to make small items (pizza, etc) instead of heating up the large oven...which is very roomy! Holiday cooking was fantastic for the first time ever, because I had so much baking space. Love the convection- rarely use the "regular" oven!
The style is awesome and everyone who comes in makes positive comments on the looks of my Electrolux! Love it!

Dual Fuel Built-in Range EW30DS65GS

The gas knobs feel solid and do not wobble like most other brands I looked at. The electric oven cooks evenly and you do not have to move the food for even cooking. The only drawback is the height/leveling adjustment. When the stove is at the minimum height to meet the granite countertop, the bottom oven draw scratches the wood floor when pulled out. This could easily be resolved by a rubber gasket under the top lip of the stove to raise it 1/16" but I have not found one yet. Should be an option for purchase.

We like it

We have had this range for four months; it does everything well. In the upper oven, we have roasted turkey, chicken, and duck using the convection mode and were very pleased with the crisp skin and the moist meat. Using the Perfect Turkey settingy, we roasted a 15-pound, stuffed turkey in about 2 hours and 15 minutes. We have roasted vegetables using the convection mode (asparagus are particulalry good) with great success. We were also very pleased with fish, bread, and pizza that we baked with the convection mode. The bread crust was slightly crisp but the center of the bread was not dry. We were able to bake two pizzas at the same time whereas we could only bake one at a time in the oven of our previous range.
The lower oven baked pies well. Having Two ovens was one of the primary reasons we got this model.
The stove burners are different sizes so that that they fit different size pots and pans better than a single standard size. The high-BTU burner makes cooking with a wok much more efficient than with a standard burner. The low BTU burner works well for simmering soups.
The self cleaning feature worked well.
The touch-activated control panel takes a little while to get accustomed to but is not difficult to use.
The most significant down-side of this stove is that it vents to the front above the oven door. This makes it hard for a range hood above the stove to remove heat and smoke. Also, the stainless steel finish and the touc-activated control panel need to be cleaned frequently because it readily shows splatter and finger prints. Make sure you clean the stainless steel in the direction that it is brushed or the finish will show scratch marks.

Have only one problem. The printing next to each burnner knob showing location of burnner is wearing off with just normal cleaning.

Not so happy

When we remodeled our kitchen two years ago, we searched for slide-in ranges for features and design and selected this Electrolux.
By the middle of the year, one of the digital numbers had gone out and I had to have a repair man - FORTUNATELY, I had purchased the extended warranty.
Now, at Christmas 2010 (convenient time), the temperature is not holding in the oven. I have to use the quick preheat to get it up to the correct temperature, and as soon as the signal sounds that temp has been reached, it starts cooling down. Unfortunately this year, I did NOT purchase the extended plan and need to pay out of pocket for that repair.
Although I've classified myself as an "avid cooker" because I do make dinner every night, it's not baked every night so the oven has not gotten daily use by any means.

I'm so happy with my Electrolux dual fuel range. The continuous grates are wonderful for moving hot pots and the sealed burners are terrific for the occasional spills. Although it took a little time and practice I have mastered convection baking with excellent results, and that perfect turkey button is truly perfect. My Thanksgiving guests actully took pictures with their cellphones!
