I have always used a gas cooktop but have grown tired of the cleanup associated with using gas. I was too skeptical to go completely induction since I had only used one for a couple of meals. Electrolux was the only company that offered the hybrid model -- both traditional electric and induction. I love it! I use the induction elements more than the traditional electric elements and its like cooking with gas -- instant on and instant off and total control inbetween -- but without the mess. It's my favorite appliance. I even quit using my microwave as often because I enjoy using the cooktop so much. The induction elements are the most revolutionary cooking concept created since the microwave. I can see it completely replacing both gas and traditional electric cooking elements. I love it!

Sleek and well designed

We have the white cooktop, of which there are few on the market. None as well designed as this one. If you have a light countertop, ours is marble, this will look great, a lot better than black glass. Although it is white, it cleans as easily as a black glass, with an appropriate cooktop cleaner.
I was a bit confused when I bought this in that I had thought that the induction burners would work as non induction pots were used. It doesn't. I therfore got some new pots, that work well. The hardest to find was a non stick skillet, frying pan that would work and didn't cost a near fortune. Two burners are induction and two function as any other glass cooktop would. If you put a non induction pot on the induction burners, it will not work. The induction burners surface will never feel hot. It takes a bit getting used to, but it does cook well.
The other main reason, besides being white, that we bought this was that I am left handed and many cooktops have the controls on the right side. This has digital controls along the front edge. If you are left handed it is potential dangerous having the controls on the right side.
All in all I would recommend, although I have it less than 6 months and have not used it on a daily basis.
