Poor Fax

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU NEED TO SEND FACSIMILE TRANSMISSIONS. I have had this product for about 3 weeks, buying it on the recommendation of the high ratings it had from reviews of previous buyers. It has successfully faxed a document on the first attempt on one occasion since I purchased it. Often times it takes ten or more attempts to fax something and many times it completely fails and I have to find another avenue to send my documents. The paper feeder often draws documents unevenly and they have to be straightened out. It prints and copies no where near as fast as advertised and it is agonizingly slow in printing envelopes. Print quality is OK but the printer cartridges get used up fairly quickly. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone.

I looked at the reviews on line and decided I would go for it. Set up was not fun. After 2 hours of trying to get it to work wirelessly, I finally called in help from a professional. I could not get the fax on a shared line to work properly and lost a whole day of calls. (Not good in today's economy.) Due to what I believe is a design flaw, paper did not feed straight on almost every print job. There is no end paper guide, only on the sides. From the first copy, it gave us problems. Also, regardless of what margins my daughter had set on her paper for school, it cut off the top of the page. Printing checks for a business, was a disaster. The first check printed fine, then the next one did not feed right, after that, it would just start printing the next check not anywhere near where the printing should have been. I would not have been able to use any window envelopes. I restarted the print job and printed them 1 by 1, not fun. I am returning it to upgrade to the L7780, which I should have gone with in the first place. The price was just not worth the hassle. I would not recommend this printer even for home use. Pay more money and get a better product. I do however still believe in HP products.

It is great to have everything in one machine and wireless. The only draw back is the amount of ink that I use.
The ink level remarks show empty when there is quite a bit of ink left in cartridge,, Learning your All in One printer, after a while you will know when to change the cartridges. Great buy.

The Printer does very good work overall. The features are a big plus for a home office environment. I would recommend using the the 74 XL Black Cartridge. It prints almost three times the number of pages as the standard 74 cartridge. The LX is about the twice the cost of the standard cartridge. I have gotten only 100 to 125 copies from the standard cartridge. That is not much for use in a small business.
The price of the printer is very reasonable for the features and quality.

The copies and print quality are poor,the colors when you compare with the original are too fade,the equipment is too big .It doesnt have LCD.

This machine is alright, except for the fact that after printing just a few items, it needed more ink. Ink lasts for like a week. I can't stand it!

Setting up printing over WiFi does not work

The main reason I bought this printer was so that I could use the WiFi feature. However, I followed all instructions and though printing worked just fine over USB the configuration program just couldn't detect the same printer so that I could configure it for WiFi operation (it kept prompting me to connect the printer over USB)! I used the configuration utility that came with the CD and I also checked online updates to make sure that I had the latest version. I am now stuck; if the printer does not work over WiFi I just don't really need the printer...
