Surprised how well cleans;

It surprised us how well works. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat and amount of hair this thing picks up is just amazing. Perhaps it is because it cleans MORE OFTEN that it keeps [...]! Anyway, it's worth it; we like the 560 because it can be programmed to go when we are away. Does not always find "homebase", but gets the job done.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Hassle Free Operation
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Frequent Maintenance, Loses Charge Quickly

Great for maintaining a clean home!

I recently purchased two Roombas. One I use on the 2nd floor of my house to keep the bedrooms clean. It works very well, and I'm thrilled that it cleans under the beds. The other I originally used in my family room where I have the crates of two lab-mix puppies. The dogs spend most of their time in this room. I've found that the roomba could not keep up with the amount of hair they shed, even though I used the roomba daily. It was clogged every day. I've given up using it to keep this room clean and have moved it to an area of the house with less dirt and hair. Although I am very very pleased with the vacuums, I am disappointed that I wasn't able to use one of them in the room in my house that needed frequent cleanings the most. I would also suggest that before using one of these vacuums you start with a fairly clean home. I needed to vacuum each area of my home before using Roomba for the first time in that area. It does great at maintaining once the area is clean.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Covers Entire Room, Fun To Watch
Cons: Can Get Stuck, Does Not Clean Stairs, Frequent Maintenance, Long hair tangles brushes, Loses Charge Quickly

Good vacuum but not carefree

Great for cat owners that make a mess with litter and fur however it is not a program and forget robot. It does require regular maintenence, cleaning and occational supervision (moving furnature/clearing it's path) otherwise it will get clogged or stuck on furniture very easily. When it works it's great but when it doesn't it's somewhat frustrating. New parts are expensive.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy To Use, Efficient, Gets under furnature, Powerful/Good Suction
Cons: Expensive delicate parts, Frequent Maintenence, Gets stuck, No tight spaces, Unreliable

great time saver

not one complaint worth every penny. Love it and The scooba is a great add on. My son and I are allergy sufferers and I use the special optional filter dust bin. Works great plus we dont have to be in the house while the vacuuming is being done and can be enjoying the day!

Poor programing causes 560 to get stuck

The main reason I am writing this is that the unit seems very stupid when it goes under a chair. When it bounces onto a leg, it seems to rotate in such a way that it rarely finds its way out. This behavior will continue for several minutes or until it runs out of battery. Why it doesn't rotate say 10 or so degrees each time, is beyond me. If it did that, it would find its way out in a matter of seconds. To me, this indicates poor device programming. It would be easy to fix with a firmware update, which seems to be impossible. It also gets stuck frequently under the kitchen cabinets which have a 3.3 inch gap. This gap seems to be perfect for roomba to fatally wedge itself under with a red display and the failure sound. This always requires human intervention which defeats the purpose of a robot. They say it learns but I see little evidence that it learns from its mistakes.
Pros: Built in timer, Cleans under beds
Cons: Doesn't find base station, Frequently gets stuck, Noisy, Poor Design, needs frequent cleaning

Roomba Damages Wood Furniture

I used this product everyday. I had it setup on a schedule to run at 4pm everyday. It did a great job of cleaning up all the cat hair from our basement tile floor. However, there's a major flaw in the design that has caused me to stop using the product. We have new wood firniture in the basement, and the Roomba does not detech the furniture and its legs very well. This causes the Roomba to hit the wood durniture at full speed causing some damage to the wood. This is HUGE miss in the design and I don't recommend getting one until this issue is addressed. I was told I would receive some foam bumper extensions, but I've yet to receive them. This is not a permanent fix, it's just a bandaid.
Pros: Cleans very well, Efficient
Cons: Damages Furniture, Poor Design, Unreliable

I really like my Roomba 560

I use my robot about 3 times a week. I've added the AeroVac Bin, I believe the AV Bin is the biggest improvement to the Roomba ever! I no longer have to clean the brushes as much, and even when I do there is little to no hair or fuze on the brush and beater. The only improvement I think could be made to Roomba is more suction and a sealed Cleaning Head Mechinisim (Gear Box)...but that's it. I love these Roomba Robots.

Cleans the house, better than ever. The rug looks like new. I bought it just to try it from [...], and it turned out to be one of the best home cleaning tools I bought in a long time.
